About the tournament
WePlay AniMajor is the second Major tournament of the 2021 Dota Pro Circuit season.
Participants:
- Eighty teams:
- Four teams each from Western Europe and China;
- Three teams each from Southeast Asia and Eastern Europe;
- Two teams each from North and South America;
Stage 1: Wild Card — 02.06.2021 — 03.06.2021:
- 6 teams in a single round-robin format;
- All matches are best-of-two (Bo2);
- The top two teams advance to the group stage;
- The remaining teams are eliminated;
Stage 2: Group Stage — 04.06.2021 — 07.06.2021:
- 8 teams in a single round-robin format;
- All matches are best-of-two (Bo2);
- The top 2 teams advance to the upper bracket;
- Teams ranked 3rd through 6th advance to the lower bracket;
- The remaining teams are eliminated;
Tiebreaker rules:
If the tie in the standings affects tournament standings:
- An additional best-of-one (Bo1) series;
If a tie in the standings has no bearing on the tournament:
- Head-to-head record;
- Results against lower-seeded teams;
- Ranking by time;
- Coin toss:
Playoffs — 09.06.2021 — 13.06.2021:
- Double-elimination bracket;
- All matches, except the Grand Final, are best-of-3 (Bo3);
- Grand Final – best-of-5 (Bo5).
