History

Virtus.pro is a russian esports organization founded in 2003. Until 2012, the team competed in DotA, but after that it switched to Dota 2.

The original roster included such players as NS, KuroKy, Santa, Azen and Dread. The team showed good results on the professional scene, and even managed to take first place in several tournaments. A little later, the roster was changed: Santa and NS were joined by KSi, Crazy and Illidan. After an unsuccessful performance at The International 2013, only NS remained in the lineup. The roster was rebuilt, but on August 25, 2014, NS said goodbye to the team.

The following year, Virtus.pro signed Polar Squad under its tag. With the renewed roster, the team placed sixth at The International 2015 and seventh at The Frankfurt Major 2015. In 2016, the organization disbanded the entire roster again, but soon presented the lineup for the next season: it included RAMZES666. In 2016, Virtus.pro finished fifth at The Boston Major, and the following year they lost to OG in the grand finals of The Kiev Major 2017. And at TI 2017 the guys, unfortunately, were only able to take fifth place. A few months later, the team performed at ESL One Hamburg 2017 and took the first place, taking $500 000 from the prize pool.

Between 2018 and 2019, VP took the first places at tournaments such as The Bucharest Major, ESL One Birmingham 2018, The Kuala Lumpur Major, and also took prizes at a few more championships. Overall, this period was quite successful for the team.

In 2020, the organization signed, at that time, the current composition of VP.Prodigy, however, the young team could not achieve special results. The following year, the team again underwent a reshuffle. The season was not bad: the team took second place at ESL One Summer 2021 and third place at ESL One Fall 2021. However, at The International 2021, the team finished in fifth place. In 2022, Virtus.pro did not participate in any tier-1 tournaments, and at the qualification for The International 2022 the team finished in third place.

In 2023, the roster looked like this: Kiritych took the first position, squad1x took the second position, Noticed took the third position, while sayuw and fng shared the supports duties. The team performed badly at the Riyadh Masters 2023, finished eighth at The International 2023, but managed to qualify for such tournaments as BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024, DreamLeague Season 22 and Elite League 2024. And at PGL Wallachia Season 1, where the team finished in the top 12, Antares, whom VP signed on a permanent basis, played instead of sayuw. Later the team finished 8th at FISSURE Universe Ep.2, 5th at 1win Series Summer and 17th at Riyadh Masters 2024, and failed to qualify for The International 2024.

  • January 2, 2025 - Kiritych and Antares were placed on transfer, while Nande, jesv, and Rein became temporary players.

In the spring of 2025, Virtus.pro unveiled a revamped roster featuring TA2000, Lorenof, Daxak, OneJey, and Rein. Additionally, the organization placed Noticed, squad1x, and Antares on the transfer list. Shortly after, the new lineup received a direct invite to the online tournament FISSURE Special.

On May 10, 2025, Virtus.pro announced that the team will compete with stand-ins at FISSURE Universe: Episode 5, but the team failed to qualify for the tournament, losing to Avulus in the lower bracket final of FISSURE Universe: Episode 5 Play-In.

On May 21, the team withdrew from the Eastern Europe closed qualifier for The International 2025, as the match dates overlap with the Riyadh Masters 2025 qualifiers. Most likely, they plan to play in a different region at different dates.

On May 30, Aibek TA2000 Tokayev and Ivan OneJey Zhivitski left the main roster and were replaced by Alik V-Tune Vorobei and Vladislav Antares Kertman.

On May 31, Aybek TA2000 Tokayev and Eugene Noticed Ignatenko officially left the team. On June 19, 2025, the team placed Ivan OneJey Zhivitski on the transfer list. At PGL Wallachia Season 5 Virtus.pro was one of the first teams to be eliminated.

On July 5, 2025, it was announced that Fng will take over as the head coach of Virtus.pro for Riyadh Masters 2025.

In July 2025, Virtus.pro ended their participation in Riyadh Masters 2025, finishing in 13th place and earning $50,000 in prize money.

On July 27, 2025, Virtus.pro secured a spot at FISSURE Universe: Episode 6 by defeating Avulus in the upper bracket final of the FISSURE Universe: Episode 6 Play-In.

In October, Virtus.pro took part in FISSURE PLAYGROUND 2, where they failed to reach the playoffs and were eliminated during the group stage. In November, Daxak left the team. Jonas SabeRLight- Volek has become the new offlaner for VP.

Later, Kirill Hellscream Lagutik joined the roster, replacing Vladislav Antares Kertman.
