The Bali Major 2023 is the third major of the Dota Pro Circuit 2023 competitive season. It takes place on the island of Bali in Indonesia, from June 26 to July 9. The Bali Major will feature 18 teams from six regions: Western and Eastern Europe, China, North and South America, and Southeast Asia. The prize fund of the Major in Bali will be $500,000.

The participants of the Bali Major were determined in the first divisions of the regional DPC leagues. The Bali Major will be the last championship in 2023 where you can earn DPC points for an invite to The International 2023. After the Bali Major, qualifying for TI12 will only be possible through regional closed qualifiers.

Participants:

  • 18 teams:
    • four teams each from Western Europe and China;
    • three teams each from Eastern Europe and Southeast Asia;
    • two teams each from North and South America.

Group stage - 29.06.2023 - 03.07.2023:

  • two groups of nine teams;
  • single round-robin;
  • all matches are Bo2;
  • the top four teams from each group advance to the upper bracket of the playoffs;
  • teams from fifth to sixth places go to the lower bracket of the playoffs;
  • the rest of the teams leave the tournament.

Tiebreaker rules:

  • If the tie is over a position of significance;
    • Two teams - a Bo3 will be played;
    • Three teams or more - a Bo1 round-robin will be played;
    • If the tiebreaker does not resolve following the first round of the round robin:
      • Three teams - the tiebreaker will be replayed;
      • Four teams or more - the matrix listed below will be used to resolve the tie, adding the information from the tiebreaker matches to those gathered during the group stage.
  • For ties that are not over positions of significance (in order of importance):
    1. Head-to-head record between the tied participants taking only game score into account;
    2. Record vs the first team below the tied teams, continuing to each subsequent team below the tied teams til the tie is resolved;
    3. coin toss
