For the first time, the group stage of the DreamLeague series championship will be held using the Swiss system. A total of 72 Bo3 matches will be played over 6 rounds. Based on the results, only 8 teams will advance to the main stage, while 16 teams will be eliminated from the competition.

Rules for forming matchups in rounds 4, 5, and 6

When there is an odd number of teams in certain brackets, additional parameters will be used instead of the current match score to form matchups:

  • Berger coefficient

  • Map win rate

  • Opponents’ map win rate

  • Initial seeding (Not used for the final placement calculation)

The following rules apply if, after the final round (round 6), it is impossible to determine the 8 teams that advance to the playoffs (final placement calculation):

7 teams have at least 4 wins:

  • The four best teams according to the tiebreaker results among those with a 3–3 score will play a single-elimination BO3 bracket for the remaining spot. They will be seeded 8th in the playoff bracket. The four best 3–3 teams play tiebreakers in a Single Elimination BO3 format.

9 teams have at least 4 wins:

  • The two worst teams according to the tiebreaker results will play one BO3 match for the remaining spot. They will be seeded 8th in the bracket. The two lowest-ranked teams play an additional BO3 series.

10 teams have at least 4 wins:

  • The three worst teams according to the tiebreaker results will play a single-elimination BO3 match for the remaining spot. They will be seeded 8th in the bracket. The three lowest-ranked teams play tiebreakers in a Single Elimination BO3 format.

All matches at DreamLeague Season 27 will be played in a Bo3 format, except for the Bo5 in the grand final. The playoff bracket will be a double elimination format.

Day 1

On the first day, the favorites won most of the series. The most interesting match was between Natus Vincere and Aurora Gaming. On the first map, the “born to win” team managed to overcome a 35,000 gold advantage, allowing them to make an incredible comeback. In the second game, which was even more protracted but without any twists, the victory also went to NAVI. In addition, Passion.ua and Team Nemesis caused a minor sensation by winning one map each against Team Falcons and Team Liquid, respectively.

Day 4

Most of the group stage has concluded and we can see the tournament leaders.

By the end of the day, the top two spots are held by Team Falcons and OG Esports, who have shown outstanding play by defeating all their opponents. Today, OG surprisingly beat Team Spirit 2-0, with both games lasting around an hour.

Tundra, Xtreme Gaming, Virtus.pro, and PARIVISION won their matches and continue in the tournament with 3 victories and only 1 loss.

At the bottom are 1WIN Team and Passion.ua, who have yet to secure a win.

An interesting moment occurred in the matchup between 1WIN Team and Nigma Galaxy. The first game lasted 75 minutes and ended in a highly unpredictable way. Despite a 22,000 gold lead for 1WIN, both teams were left with critically low of Ancient's health. When 1WIN was about to finish the match, Nigma’s offlaner, Tony No!ob Assaf, playing Lycan, went for a counter-push, relying on his team.

Seconds decided the outcome, and a perfect combo from Naga Siren and Shadow Fiend gave No!ob time to destroy the enemy Ancient while his own had less than 100 HP remaining. The second game went much more smoothly for Nigma, who finished it in just 40 minutes.
