OG is a European esports organization formed on October 31, 2015, based on the (monkey) Business roster. The original roster included Johan N0tail Sundstein, Amer Miracle- al-Barqawi, David MoonMeander Tan, Andreas Cr1t- Frank Nielsen, and Tal Fly Aizik.

2015–2016

Just one month after its formation, the team made a big splash by winning its debut tournament, The Frankfurt Major 2015. In the first half of 2016, OG cemented its status as the world leader by finishing in 3rd place at Epicenter 2016 and winning The Manila Major 2016 and ESL One Frankfurt 2016. However, at the main tournament of the year, The International 2016, the favorites unexpectedly faltered, finishing only in 9th–12th place.

The setback at TI led to the first roster changes: Miracle-, Cr1t- and MoonMeander left the team. They were replaced by Gustav s4 Magnusson, Jesse JerAx Vainikka, and Anathan ana Pham. The revamped roster won The Boston Major 2016 at the end of the year.

2017–2019

In the first half of 2017, OG continued to dominate at the Majors. By winning The Kiev Major 2017, the team became the first organization to claim victory at four Dota Major tournaments. However, their results then began to decline: at Epicenter 2017 and The International 2017, the team finished in 7th–8th place. After that, ana went inactive, and his spot was taken by Roman Resolut1on Fominok.

The results left much to be desired, and a couple of months before the qualifiers for The International 2018, s4 and N0tail’s close friend, Fly, left the roster amid a scandal. Left as a trio, N0tail and JerAx demoted coach Sebastian Ceb Debs to the third position, urgently brought ana back, and invited the talented rookie Topias Topson Taavitsainen as their midlaner.

The hastily assembled roster qualified for TI and secured a spot in the upper bracket during the group stage. In their first playoff match, OG defeated VGJ.Storm, and in the next round, the team faced a high-stakes showdown against their former teammates, who were competing under the Evil Geniuses tag. OG defeated EG, and the footage of N0tail shaking hands with the defeated Fly went down in Dota 2 history as one of the most dramatic moments.

After defeating PSG.LGD in grueling series in the Upper Bracket Finals and the Grand Final, OG sensationally became the champion of The International. For the first time in history, a team that qualified for TI through open qualifiers won the year’s premier tournament.

Throughout 2019, OG’s results were mediocre, but at The International 2019, they surprised everyone once again. The team advanced to their second Aegis without suffering a single series loss and became the first two-time champions in The International history, defeating Team Liquid — another contender for a second TI victory — in the Grand Final.

2020–2022

After their triumph, the championship roster gradually disbanded: JerAx and ana retired, while Ceb went inactive. Over the course of two years, star players such as MidOne, SumaiL and Saksa, passed through the team, but they were unable to recapture their former dominance — at The International 2021, the team finished only in 7th–8th place, after which the legendary organization completely revamped its roster, and N0tail went inactive.

In 2022, under the leadership of Ceb (as a stand-in), the revamped youth roster featuring Artem Yuragi Golubev and Bozhidar bzm Bogdanov won the ESL One Stockholm Major 2022 and the ESL One Malaysia 2022. However, at The International 2022, the team finished only in 7th–8th place, and at Riyadh Masters 2022, they placed 3rd–4th.

2023–2026

2023 was a disastrous year for the organization. Their best results were a 5th–6th-place finish at the ESL One Berlin Major 2023 and a top-four finish at DreamLeague Season 21. At the Riyadh Masters 2023, OG finished in 13th–14th place, and they failed to qualify for The International 2023 altogether. In the fall, the roster was bolstered by Adrian Wisper Dobles and Matthew Ari Walker, while Ceb returned permanently as a player and captain.

In the first half of 2024, Yuragi was replaced by Enzo Timado Gianoli. The team’s results did not improve, and for the remainder of 2024, as well as most of 2025, OG shuffled its roster but failed to achieve success.

On November 8, 2025, the organization signed the Team Aureus roster from Southeast Asia, and the team’s results improved somewhat. OG finished 2025 with 5th–6th place finishes at PGL Wallachia Season 6, BLAST Slam V, and DreamLeague Season 27.

The team started 2026 on a high note, finishing in the top 3 at BLAST SLAM VI. However, the team’s results later began to decline again. The roster did not finish higher than 10th place at major tournaments.

In April, Alexander TORONTOTOKYO Hertek joined OG as an offlaner, but the team’s performance did not improve. The roster failed to qualify for DreamLeague Season 29 and finished in 9th–10th place once again at BLAST SLAM VII.
