PGL Wallachia Season 5: format, schedule, results, and tournament bracket
PGL Wallachia Season 5 is a Dota 2 LAN tournament that takes place from 21.06.2025 to 29.06.2025 in Bucharest, Romania. 16 teams will raffle off a prize pool of $1,000,000.
The tournament began with a group stage, which was played using the Swiss system. At the end of this stage, eight teams advanced to the playoffs, while the rest were eliminated from the competition.
All matches at PGL Wallachia will be played in a Best-of-3 format, except for the Grand Final, which will be a BO5. The playoff bracket is double elimination.
Seeding of teams in the playoffs, according to their positions in the group:
- 1 vs 8;
- 4 vs 5;
- 2 vs 7;
- 3 vs 6.
Game Day 9 Results (29.06.2025):
The final day of the tournament began with a lower bracket match, where BetBoom Team confidently defeated Team Liquid 2–0 and advanced to the grand final, where Gaimin Gladiators were already waiting. It’s worth noting that Team Liquid played with an emergency stand-in: Matthew Ari Walker replaced Aydin Insania Sarkohi.
In the grand final, BetBoom Team and Gaimin Gladiators faced off for the championship title. BB Team claimed victory, earning the second trophy in the team’s history.

Results of previous match days:
Day 1
Gaimin Gladiators confidently defeated AVULUS with a 2-0 score. All Gamers Global left no chance for Virtus.pro, also closing the match 2-0. Xtreme Gaming, Aurora Gaming, Team Liquid, Edge, Team Spirit, and Natus Vincere also started with victories, showing strong performances in their opening matches.
AVULUS, Virtus.pro, Tundra Esports, OG, BetBoom Team, Wildcard, and Nigma Galaxy did not show their best and ended up among the teams that failed to start the tournament successfully.
Day 2
Gaimin Gladiators, Aurora Gaming, Natus Vincere, and Team Spirit share the top four spots, having won all of their matches today. All Gamers Global, Tundra Esports, OG, and Xtreme Gaming also remain in the top 8 of the group stage. Meanwhile, Team Liquid, Edge, BetBoom Team, Wildcard, AVULUS, Heroic, Nigma Galaxy, and Virtus.pro have ended the day in the red zone of the standings.
Day 3
Gaimin Gladiators secured their place in the playoffs first, defeating Aurora Gaming. Natus Vincere was also very close to advancing to the main stage, but Team Spirit managed to come back from a 27,000 gold disadvantage and defend their throne, which had less than 100 HP remaining. Virtus.pro and AVULUS left the competition today, losing to Nigma Galaxy and HEROIC, respectively.
Day 4
Team Liquid and Aurora Gaming secured their spots in the tournament playoffs by defeating Tidebound and Tundra Esports, respectively. Natus Vincere, which managed to put up a fight against Team Spirit yesterday, defeated BetBoom Team today and also secured a spot in the main stage of the championship. Nigma Galaxy, OG, and Edge have left the competition. All playoff participants will be determined tomorrow. In addition, the final matches of the group stage will determine the teams' positions in the bracket.
Day 5
All playoff participants have been determined today. Tundra Esports, Xtreme Gaming, and BetBoom Team earned the last spots in the main stage, eliminating Wildcard, HEROIC, and Tidebound from the championship, respectively. The playoffs will start tomorrow with the quarterfinal matches of the upper bracket.
Day 6
The first day of the playoffs has come to an end. Gaimin Gladiators, Xtreme Gaming, Team Liquid, and BetBoom Team advanced to the upper bracket semifinals, with BetBoom Team surprisingly easily defeating Team Spirit. "Dragons", Tundra Esports, Natus Vincere, and Aurora Gaming will face off tomorrow in elimination matches, with the finalists being decided in the upper bracket.
Day 7
Gaimin Gladiators and Team Liquid have become the finalists of the upper bracket, and tomorrow one of these teams will secure a spot in the grand final. Team Spirit eliminated Aurora Gaming, while Natus Vincere once again showed excellent play and defeated Tundra Esports — the teams will continue their run in the lower bracket quarterfinals.
Day 8
In the lower bracket, Natus Vincere lost to BetBoom Team and was eliminated from the tournament. Xtreme Gaming shared the same fate, falling to Team Spirit. Later, BetBoom Team and Team Spirit met in the lower bracket semifinal to determine who would advance. As a result, Team Spirit was knocked out of the tournament, while BB Team moved on to the next stage.
In the upper bracket, Gaimin Gladiators confidently defeated Team Liquid and advanced to the grand final. Liquid, in turn, dropped to the lower bracket final, where they were later joined by BetBoom Team.
