PGL Wallachia Season 8: CyberScore's predictions

With just a few days remaining until the start of PGL Wallachia Season 8, in this article we will break down which teams are the main contenders for the championship title and which underdogs could deliver a strong performance.

Main favorites

According to analysts, the main favorite of the tournament is Tundra Esports, who became champions of ESL One Birmingham 2026. Bookmakers have also placed them at the top of the list.

However, the team will start this tournament without their main carry Ivan Pure Moskalenko, who is dealing with visa issues. He will be temporarily replaced by Alik V-Tune Vorobei. If Pure manages to obtain his visa and arrive at the tournament, the team will continue playing with him. Because of this, Tundra’s results in the group stage become less predictable, but even with a stand-in, the team remains extremely strong.

Their direct competitors are Team Yandex, who became one of the most consistent teams on the pro scene after Martin Saksa Sazdov joined the roster. Also, at this tournament, Dmitriy DM Dorokhin joined the roster, with whom the team won PGL Wallachia Season 7.

It is worth noting that during the playoff stage of ESL One Birmingham 2026, these teams faced each other twice, and both times Tundra came out on top.

Top contenders

Despite the favorite status of Tundra and Yandex, there are several teams capable of competing for high placements.

Team Liquid had a strong start to the season, winning BLAST Slam VI in February and consistently finishing in the top 5 of major tournaments. The team now looks confident enough to secure a top placement and even compete for the title.

The only thing that could hinder the team is the absence of their main roster support, Samuel Boxi Svan, who is temporarily unavailable due to personal reasons. During this period, he is being replaced by Marcel Ekki Holowienko, who has previously already helped the team.

Team Falcons, the reigning world champions, have not shown their best performance this season so far. Nevertheless, they cannot be underestimated, and many teams will need to prepare carefully for matches against them.

PARIVISION, who recently won PREMIER SERIES, have significantly risen in the list of contenders for high placements. Many note that the release of the new patch has played a key role in improving the team’s form.

Unpredictable teams

Team Spirit are usually considered a contender for high placements, but their recent results have been rather weak. In addition, the roster has been undergoing frequent changes, and at this tournament Bogdan Batyuk Batyuk from Yellow Submarine will replace Magomed Collapse Khalilov.

The team’s last result was an 8th place finish at the online PREMIER SERIES tournament, where they lost to Nigma Galaxy and GamerLegion in the playoff stage.

Xtreme Gaming remain one of the most unpredictable teams. Six months ago, they finished second at The International 2025. Their recent results include a fourth place at DreamLeague Season 28, 9-10 place at PGL Wallachia Season 7 and third place at ESL One Birmingham.

Aurora Gaming, BetBoom Team, MOUZ, and HEROIC are teams of a similar level: they are capable of upsetting top-tier teams, but these performances are often inconsistent. A playoff appearance would be considered an expected result for them.

Natus Vincere have shown inconsistent results recently, but their victory over Team Liquid in the DreamLeague Season 29 closed qualifier final demonstrated that the team is ready to compete at tier-1 level.

It is also worth noting that team captain Bakyt Zayac Emilzhanov recently left the roster, and young support Tamir daze Tokpanov joined as his replacement.

Dark horses of the tournament

Among the underdogs, GamerLegion stand out. At the recent PREMIER SERIES, they finished in 4th place and also topped the group stage without losing a single series.

Recently, carry Daniel Ghost Kok Hong joined the roster. He previously helped Nigma Galaxy secure a top 6 finish at The International 2025, and there is a strong possibility that the team can surprise the community once again.

Virtus.pro entered the tournament as a replacement for OG and, based on their recent results, could compete for a playoff spot.

Meanwhile, Vici Gaming and the new stack South America Rejects (the former roster of paiN Gaming, whose players continued to compete after closure of the department) can also deliver unexpected results.

PGL Wallachia Season 8 will take place from 18.04.2026 to 26.04.2026 in Bucharest, Romania, where 16 teams will compete for a $1,000,000 prize pool. You can follow the tournament in detail in our report.
