The International 2024: format, schedule, results, and tournament bracket
The International 2024 (also known as TI2024 or TI13) is the thirteenth annual tournament in The International series, which took place from 04.09.2024 to 15.09.2024 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Sixteen teams competed in the championship. The starting prize pool was $1,600,000, which was supplemented by 25% of the compendium sales. The final prize pool was $2,776,566.
The group stage advanced from September 4 to 7 using a round-robin system. Four groups, each with four teams, competed in Bo2 series. The top two teams from each group were matched against the third- or fourth-place teams from the opposite group in Bo3 matches (A vs. B and C vs. D) to determine the playoff seeding.
In the playoffs, eight teams started their journey in the upper bracket, and another eight in the lower bracket. All matches in the main stage were played in a Bo3 format, except for the Grand Final, which was played in a Bo5 format.
Results of the tenth day of play (15.09.2024):
Team Liquid defeated Gaimin Gladiators in the Grand Final, making the organization a two-time champion of The International.
The Grand Final ended with a score of 3:0. The game advanced one-sidedly, with Liquid confidently defeating GG on all three maps and gaining a complete advantage. In none of the games was Quinn Quinn Callahan's team able to enter their opponent's high ground and destroy at least one side.
Special mention should be made of Team Liquid offlaner Neto Shapiro, who became the first player in history to win TI with two different teams. Shapiro first became champion in 2022 with the Tundra Esports roster. For all other Team Liquid players, this was their first victory at The International.
Results of previous game days:
Day 1
Group A
Xtreme Gaming became the leader of Group A, winning all four maps today, which they finished quite confidently. I would like to highlight the first map against Gaimin Gladiators, where WBG.XG demonstrated incredible flexibility in the draft: XinQ took Timbersaw for the fourth position, which will allow Xxs to choose a comfortable hero for the game against Razor. Despite the unusual pick, the support Xtreme was very useful in the game and the team won.

Group B
In Group B, the teams have fairly equal scores, as one series less was played today than in the other groups. Currently, the leader is Cloud9, which finished the first day undefeated, beating G2.IG.

Group C
In Group C, Team Zero performed unexpectedly well, coming close to taking two maps from Team Falcons, and later defeating BetBoom Team to take first place in the group. The Chinese team's games attracted attention not only for their decent results, but also for their unconventional strategies. For example, on the second map against Falcons, Team Zero's full support played Bristleback with Solar Crest, and on the first map against BetBoom Team, player of the third position Beyond, playing Kunkka, purchased a fast Orchid Malevolence against Puck instead of the standard build with Blade Mail and Aghanim's Scepter.

Group D
Team Spirit and Team Liquid have already secured 1st and 2nd place in Group D, defeating Aurora Gaming and Beastcoast with a score of 2:0. Now they will be able to choose their opponent in the seed match.

Day 2
Group A
The undisputed leader of this group is Xtreme Gaming, with the Chinese team winning 5 out of 6 maps. Surprisingly, only 1win managed to beat XG, and with a complete rout. Gaimin Gladiators is in second place in the group: today the guys drew with Heroic, where on the second map of the confrontation, the Heroic team finished the game with a score of 12/0/22. 1win will play in the decisive match for seeding with Cloud9, and Heroic will play with Tundra Esports.

Group B
Cloud9 took first place in Group B, losing only one map to Tundra Esports. Also, C9 beat Talon Esports today with a score of 2-0. G2.Invictus Gaming and Tundra played to a draw, forcing them to play an additional match for second place in the standings. On the first map of the rematch, the teams encountered a critical error that paused the game for over 40 minutes, while the second map ended in 15 minutes. Thus, Tundra Esports became the second leader of the group, while G2.IG and Talon paired up with Gaimin Gladiators and Xtreme Gaming, respectively.

Group C
In Group C, the leading positions were shared by Team Zero and Team Falcons. Based on the results of the rematches, Team Falcons took first place. In addition, in today's match, the Chinese team shared points with Nouns, but still showed a decent result. Team Falcons beat BetBoom 2-0. On the first map, the Arab team's carry showed excellent play on Luna, which brought the Falcons team a quick victory. The second map, however, was not so easy: BetBoom caught their opponents making a number of mistakes and gained a significant advantage in the middle of the game, but thanks to coordinated teamwork, Falcons were able to make a comeback and take both maps. BB Team and Nouns will play their decisive matches against Team Liquid and Team Spirit, respectively.

Group D
Today, Spirit defeated Team Liquid with a score of 2-0. On the first map, Ilya Raddan Mulyarchuk played his signature Morphling, and Magomed Collapse Khalilov played Magnus, bringing victory to their team. Team Spirit showed first-class play in all matches, without losing a single map, deservedly taking the top spot in their group. Liquid took second place. Also today, Aurora Gaming and Beastcoast faced off, with the results placing these teams in last place and setting them up to play their decider matches against Team Zero and Team Falcons.

Day 3
Based on today's results, Xtreme Gaming, Cloud9, Team Liquid, and Aurora Gaming will start their playoff run in the upper bracket. At the same time, Talon Esports, 1WIN, Team Zero, and BetBoom Team have dropped to the lower bracket.
One of the highlights of today's games was the third map in the match between Aurora Gaming and Team Zero. The game lasted 62 minutes, making it the first map at this TI to last more than an hour. In the last 20 minutes of the match, Team Zero managed to gain and lose a 20,000 net worth advantage. Thanks to the timely buyout of Aurora Gaming's carry, 23savage the team was able to repel Team Zero's high ground push and launch a successful counterattack, ending the game.

Day 4
Based on today's results, Team Falcons, Tundra Esports, nouns, and Gaimin Gladiators will start their playoff run in the upper bracket. Meanwhile, beastcoast, HEROIC, Team Spirit, and G2.iG ended up in the lower bracket.
The sensation of the day was the series between Team Spirit and nouns. The North American team not only outplayed the two-time champions of The International, but also showed excellent play on both maps. Now nouns will play against Gaimin Gladiators for the top 6 of the tournament, while Team Spirit, which advanced to the group stage with a score of 6:0, is close to finishing in 16th place.

Day 5
Today's matches were once again spectacular. Xtreme Gaming fell into the lower bracket after losing to Team Liquid, while Cloud9 easily defeated Aurora Gaming.
Tundra Esports unexpectedly sent Team Falcons to the lower bracket, although the match itself was not easy. The second map could have gone to Falcons when the guys practically broke Tundra's throne, and there were only a few seconds left before the British team's carry was revived. However, Ivan Pure Moskalenko teleported behind his opponent and scored a triple kill, killing all of the enemy's cows. It is also worth noting Topias Topson Taavitsainen, who played excellently on Invoker on both maps.
The next match was a full BO3 series. Gaimin Gladiators defeated Nouns with a score of 2-1. Although the North American team took the first game, there were no further surprises. GG banned Nouns' successful heroes, thereby breaking their draft, which allowed them to quickly defeat the enemy team on the remaining maps.
Thus, Team Liquid, Cloud9, Tundra Esports, and Gaimin Gladiators advanced to the semifinals of the tournament, while the remaining participants will continue their journey in the lower bracket.

Day 6
Today, the lower bracket playoff matches took place, resulting in Talon Esports, Team Zero, Nouns, and 1win being eliminated from the tournament. The most memorable game was the second map of the BetBoom Team - Talon Esports series. After 50 minutes of dominance by BB Team, Talon managed to make a comeback thanks to a damage boost rune picked up by the roster's carry, Eljon Akashi Kanonigo, who was playing Morphling.
Also eliminated from the tournament today was Nouns, who sensationally sent Team Spirit to the lower bracket. The team lost to BetBoom Team, suffering a crushing defeat on both maps. The second game ended with a score of 42-5 and a 53,000 advantage for BB Team.
Day 7
Today, the lower bracket playoff matches took place. As a result, Aurora and Xtreme Gaming entered the top 8 of the tournament, while HEROIC and Team Spirit left the championship in 9th-12th place.
G2.IG, as expected, was no problem for Spirit, but Xtreme proved to be clearly stronger. This was noticeable even on the first map, which the “dragons” took with great difficulty. The Chinese team won the next two maps in less than 30 minutes.
Thus, all the teams that advanced to the final stage of TI, which will take place at the Royal Arena, have been determined. They are Team Liquid, Cloud9, Tundra Esports, Gaimin Gladiators, BetBoom Team, Team Falcons, Aurora, and Xtreme Gaming.
Day 8
Today, the finalists of the upper bracket of the playoffs were determined. They are Team Liquid and Gaimin Gladiators, who will play tomorrow for a place in the grand final. As a result of the lower bracket matches, BetBoom Team and Aurora were eliminated from the tournament.
It should be noted that the favorites won all of today's series quite confidently, with a score of 2:0. Tundra Esports, which sent Falcons to the lower bracket, was unable to repeat its success in the match against Gladiators, and Cloud9 failed to cope with Liquid, although it reached the top 6 of the tournament without much difficulty.
Day 9
The penultimate day of play at The International 2024 has come to an end. We found out who became the first finalist and said goodbye to three teams. Tomorrow, the teams will battle for the coveted Aegis and the title of world champion. In the meantime, let's sum up today's results.
So, today Cloud9, Xtreme Gaming, and, unexpectedly, Team Falcons, which was considered the main favorite at the beginning, were eliminated from the tournament. It is worth noting that it was Tundra Esports that sent two of the strongest teams in the world home: XG and Falcons. Moreover, both matches were played with a score of 2-0. The mid laner of the English team, Topias Topson Taavitsainen, was literally a few steps away from becoming the first three-time TI champion.
In addition, Gaimin Gladiators and Team Liquid played their series in the upper bracket, with Liquid advancing to the grand final and GG falling to the lower bracket, where they will play their decisive match against Tundra.
