Talon Esports is a well-known cyber sports organization based in Hong Kong. The club has made a name for itself by successfully competing in popular disciplines such as League of Legends and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six. In 2021, Talon unveiled its first Dota 2 roster for the 2021/2022 DPC season.
The club's initial roster included two Indonesian players Raflai Mikoto Fatur Rahman and Brizio Adi Hyde Putra Budiana, longtime players in the Southeast Asian pro scene, as well as regional legends Kim Gabbi Phillafuerte and Damien kpii Sau-jing Chok. The roster is captained by experienced Israeli cyber athlete Tal Fly Azik, who has previously represented big name tag teams such as Fnatic, Team Secret, OG and Evil Geniuses, but has no experience playing on rosters with players from Southeast Asia. Despite the big names in the lineup, the first round of the DPC season could not be called successful for Talon Esports. The team was only able to qualify for the second division of the region at the second attempt, and the team finished only 5th in the league itself, which did not suit both the players and the club.
After the unsuccessful performance Talon Esports decided to change the squad. Thus, the team left 2 cybersports players at once - the captain of the roster Fly and the player of the first position Gabbi. In place of the Israeli came a promising Support from Thailand Voravit Q Mekchai, and the Carry position was taken by a young professional Nyengnara 23savage Tiramahanon, also born in Thailand. The team also got a coach in the person of an experienced cyber athlete from South Korea Lee Forev Sang Don. The roster, completely composed of players from the region, showed much more successful results. At DPC SEA 2021/22 Tour 2: Division II, Talon Esports finished in second place, securing a slot in the Southeast Asia First Division. Once in the first division, the team continued to show strong play, and by the middle of the summer tour the team was ranked number one at DPC SEA 2021/2022 Tour 3: Division I, having every chance to qualify for the last major of the DPC season, which they did. At PGL Arlington Major 2022, the squad finished 13-14th, leaving the tournament without making it out of the group stage. At ESL One Malaysia 2022, history repeated itself as the team finished 9th-10th and stayed in the group stage.
After the failures Talon changed the coach. The new coach was Andrei ALWAYSWANNAFLY Bondarenko, who used to play for Natus Vincere. With the new coach the team managed to qualify for The International 2022, playing all the matches in the top playoffs and showing a great game. But at the tournament itself the roster failed again: 17th-18th place and again went down after the group stage.
After the TI in the roster was reshuffled: kpii and Hyde left, they were replaced by Anuja Jabz Jirawong and Chan Oli Jong Kin. Also introduced a new coach, he was Lee SunBhie Jeon Jae. The renewed lineup began to show some pretty good results: 1st place at BTS Pro Series Season 14: Southeast Asia, 3rd at Lima Major 2023 and 3rd at Riyadh Masters 2023. And at The International 2023 the team managed not only to pass the group stage, but also to pass in the playoffs in the top net. At the end of the tournament, Talon finished 9-12th and dropped out after losing to BetBoom Team.
In November 2023, the team disbanded and soon introduced a new roster. The roster consisted of Eljon Kanonigo Akashi Andales, Chun Ws Wei Shen, Tri Jhocam Kunkoro, Peng ponyo Shi Huan and Yuri Yowe Pakana as stand-in.
- December 14, 2023 - Talon Esports changes mid player, with ChYuaN replacing Yowe. In January 2024, pieliedie joined the team as a coach.
The renewed squad played poorly at the qualifiers for BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024, finishing in 4th place and top 5-6 at the qualifiers for DreamLeague Season 22.
January 28, 2024 - Talon Esports defeated Geek Fam 3:0 and guaranteed itself a slot to ESL One: Birmingham 2024 where the team finished in the top 9. In addition, the team took 1st place at RES Regional Series: SEA 1 and 18th place at Elite League 2024, as well as almost made it to PGL Wallachia Season 1 and DreamLeague Season 23. Interestingly, V-Tune was replaced by Akashi at the Elite League.
A little later Talon Esports qualified for ESL One Birmingham and took 9th place in the main stage of the tournament. After that, they qualified for the Riyadh Masters 2024, but failed to qualify for the main event.
- On June 5, 2024 Mikoto joined the team and replaced ChYuaN.
With a renewed lineup, Talon Esports went to the qualifiers for The International 2024, where they took first place and got a slot in the main stage. In between qualifying for the most important tournaments of the year, the team played at RES Regional Series: SEA #3, where they took third place. Before TI13, Talon played at the Clavision Snow Ruyi Invitational, where they finished in the top 8. At The International 2024, the team also failed to make a significant impact, finishing only 13-16th, losing to BB Team in the first round of the lower bracket playoffs.
After failing at the biggest tournament of the year, Talon went to BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024 and eliminated as one of the first teams to go. At DreamLeague Season 24, the team suffered the same fate: they couldn't even get out of the group stage.
- November 18, 2024 - Akashi and pieliedie left the team.
In December, Talon Esports became the champion of the MESA Invitational 2024, and Natsumi, who played in the tournament as a standin, officially joined the club.
The team started 2025 with a 5th place finish at FISSURE PLAYGROUND and a 9th place finish at BLAST SLAM II. In March, the team competed on FISSURE Universe Ep.4, but failed to secure a prize-winning place and in April, the team participated in ESL One Raleigh 2025, but also faced difficulties and failed to advance beyond the group stage, as well as at PGL Wallachia Season 4. After a string of failures, Natsumi left the team.
- On May 8, 2025, Talon Esports entered into a one-year partnership with the cryptocurrency exchange Flipster. From now on, the team will compete under the name Flipster Talon.
- On May 10, Nattaphon 23savage Thiraphananon rejoined the team.
In early June, the team participated in DreamLeague Season 26, finishing in 3rd place. In July 2025, Flipster Talon exited Riyadh Masters 2025, finishing in 10th place and earning $75,000 in prize money. On July 30, 23savage's loan with Flipster Talon ended, and he left the team. On July 31, 2025, Kuku left the Flipster Talon roster. Two months later, Jhocam also left the team.
On September 26, Talon Esports announced the return of Nuengnara 23savage Teeramahanon, Worawit QQQ Mekchai, and Chan Oli Chon Kien Kin to the team. However, on October 3, 23savage, QQQ, and coach March left the club.
