Bio
John Natsumi- Anthony Vargas is a Filipino professional Dota 2 player who plays in the number one position. He is known to the general public for his appearances for Adroit Esports, Neon Esports and Polaris Esports.
Natsumi- began his cybersport career in March 2019, when he accepted an invitation from the Happy Feet team, in which the player unsuccessfully visited two qualifications for third-tier tournaments. In May, the Filipino appeared in the announcement of the new Adroit Esports lineup, where Natsumi- spent the next two months. The most notable achievements during this period were 1st place at RedRain Cup Season 3 and ESL Clash of Nations Bangkok 2019, 2nd place at ESL One Los Angeles 2020 and 3rd place at qualifying for The International 2019. However, the team's recent results at tournaments deteriorated and in August 2020, the Filipino player was contacted by the management of the Zerothreetwo Dota organization. A month later, Natsumi- became part of the team where he led the following scoreless quarter.
In November 2020, the player joined Neon Esports - the cyber athlete took the position of kerry. At the start of the new DPC-system the team had to participate in the first division, according to the results of which the team took second place and qualified for the playoffs ONE Esports Singapore Major 2021. However, Natsumi- was not able to participate in this tournament, he was replaced by Rapy. John's last tournament with Neon Esports was the regional qualifiers for The International 2021, where he managed to place 5th-6th.
In September 2021, Natsumi- joined Polaris Esports. In this team, the Filipino player continued to show high quality play, which allowed him to win championships at local tournaments. In the opening round of the DPC League for Southeast Asia, the high performance of the player allowed the team to qualify for the first division, taking the top spot in the standings at the end of the championship. In the second round, the team managed to impose the fight against the regional grandees, but it was not enough to get to the major tournament. At the end of the third part of the season, Natsumi- along with the team fell to the second division. Despite this, at the end of qualifying for The International 2022 the team unexpectedly took second place, which allowed the team to qualify for The International 2022: Last Chance Qualifier, where they finished in 12th place. Natsumi spent the next season and the first half of 2024 in Boom Esports and Geek Fam, but did not achieve significant results and on May 21, 2024 moved to Blacklist International, which successfully qualified for the Riyadh Masters 2024, where they placed 15th. Later, the team successfully passed the qualifiers for PGL Wallachia Season 2.
In September 2024, Natsumi joined Kukuys, with which he participated in the closed qualifier for BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024, where they placed 2nd and did not qualify for the tournament.
On December 2, 2024, Natsumi joined Talon Esports as a stand-in for the 2024 MESA Invitational. After winning this tournament, John officially joined the team.
The team started 2025 with a 5th place finish at FISSURE PLAYGROUND and a 9th place finish at BLAST SLAM II. In March, the team competed on FISSURE Universe Ep.4, but failed to secure a prize-winning place and in April, the team participated in ESL One Raleigh 2025, but also faced difficulties and failed to advance beyond the group stage, as well as at PGL Wallachia Season 4. After a string of failures, Natsumi left Talon.
On November 8, the organization OG officially signed the Team Aureus roster, including all players and the coach.
The first tournament for the updated team was PGL Wallachia Season 6, where the roster managed to secure 5–6th place.
At the beginning of December, OG competed in BLAST Slam V finishing 5–6th after reaching the tournament playoffs.
At the beginning of February 2026, the team competed at BLAST SLAM VI, where they took third place, losing to Team Liquid in the playoff stage. At the following DreamLeague Season 28, OG finished 9th-10th, being eliminated in the group stage, as well as on PGL Wallachia Season 7.
