Cloud9 is an American esports organization founded in 2013. The club is considered one of the most recognized brands in global esports, and in Dota 2 it has repeatedly assembled rosters featuring the strongest players from Europe and North America.

2014-2015

In February 2014, Cloud9 opened its Dota 2 division by signing the former Speed Gaming roster. It included Kurtis Aui_2000 Ling, Johan pieliedie Astrom, Pittner bOne7 Armand, Wehsing SingSing Yuen, and Jacky EternaLEnVy Mao.

Throughout the season the team regularly placed at major international events, including DreamLeague Season 1, World Cyber Arena 2014, and The Summit 2. The year's biggest achievement was a top-6 finish at The International 2014.

In 2015, the organization refreshed the roster, bringing in Adrian FATA- Trinks, Johan N0tail Sundstein, and Rasmus MiSeRy Filipsen. Despite a few notable performances, the team finished only 9-12 at The International 2015, after which the original Cloud9 roster was disbanded.

2017-2020

In 2017, the organization returned to the discipline twice. First it signed the Danish Bears roster, and a few months later the Team NP lineup, which included EternaLEnVy, FATA-, Aui_2000, Arif MSS Anwar, and pieliedie. The team qualified for The International 2017, but exited in the top-16. Within a month, the club left the discipline again.

The next return came in 2020. A new roster featuring Marcus Ace Hoelgaard, EternaLEnVy, Wu Sneyking Jingjun, MiSeRy, and Rolen Andre Skem Gabriel Ong played only a few months before Cloud9 closed its Dota 2 division once again.

2024

After a four-year break, the organization returned to the professional scene by signing the Entity roster.

The team included Alimzhan watson Islambekov, Volodymyr No[o]one- Minenko, Dmitry DM Dorokhin, Vladislav Kataomi Semenov, and Dzmitry Fishman Palishchuk under coach Filipe Astini Astini, who began his coaching career in 2016 and already had extensive experience with professional teams at that point.

The squad successfully qualified for The International 2024, where they reached the upper-bracket quarterfinals and ended the tournament in the top-6. After the season, the organization disbanded the roster and coaching staff and left the professional scene again.
