History
OG is a european team, the only one in the world to have won two The International tournaments in a row for two consecutive years, formed in 2015. The original team consisted of: Johan Notail Sundstein, Tal Fly Isik, David MoonMeander Tan Boon Young, Andreas Cr1t Frank Nielsen and the star of the time - Amer Miracle Al-Barkawi. Before OG, the guys were united by a common team called (monkey) Business. After they proved their professionalism by taking 3-4 place at the MLG World Finals 2015, the team began to play under the OG tag.
The newly minted team earned their first million at the Frankfurt Major 2015, defeating Team Secret in the final. However, in 2016, the team started to have a breakdown. Although the team took away two major tournaments - Manila Major 2016 and ESL One Frankfurt 2016 with first place finishes, unsuccessful battles at Shanghai Major 2016 and EPICENTER 2016, where the team took 8th and 3rd place, caused a tense atmosphere. The last point before the forced replacements was the defeat at The International 2016, where the team took 9th-12th place.
Miracle, Cr1t, and MoonMeander left the team. They were replaced by Gustav s4 Magnusson, Jesse JerAx Vainikka, and Anathan ana Pham. This lineup performed well and managed to take first place at The Boston Major 2016 and The Kiev Major 2017, but again unsuccessful performances at EPICENTER 2017 and The International 2018 led to new changes.
2017-2018 was a completely failed season for the team, which caused a complete split. Fly and s4 left the team. At the same time, a significant decision was made to release their coach Sebastian Ceb Debs and Topias Topson Taavitsainen, who had never played on the pro scene, to the scene. The team worked well together and won The International 2018 and then The International 2019 with the same lineup.
During the existence of OG, the roster has changed a huge number of times. For example, JerAx and Seb left the team, and ana took a break. They were replaced by Yeik MidOne Nai Zheng, Sumail Sumail Hassan and Martin Saksa Sazdov. Then Ceb returned and Sumail was removed. Every year, the roster was reshuffled, and this process was repeated several times.
After a bright performance in 2019, the team was able to overcome several more major tournaments. They played ESL One Stockholm Major 2022 and ESL One Malaysia 2022, taking first place.
In 2023 the roster looked like this: Yuragi, bzm, Ceb, DM and Kitrak. The guys took part in ESL One Berlin Major 2023, and after a while tried their hand at qualifying for The International 2023. A little later, DM and Kitrak were replaced by Wisper and Ari, with whom OG qualified for BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024.
In February 2024, Timado replaced Yuragi at DreamLeague Season 22, Elite League 2024 and ESL One Birmingham 2024, as well as at the qualifiers for DreamLeague Season 23 and PGL Wallachia Season 1. Timado has proven himself playing for OG, so he was soon announced as an official member of the team. The revamped roster took prizes at Elite League 2024, ESL One Birmingham 2024, FISSURE Universe Ep.2 and Riyadh Masters 2024.
In September, OG introduced a new roster that included 23Savage, returning from inactivity Nine, Wisper, Ari, and Seb. With this lineup, the team participated in the qualifiers for the BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024. Later, the team failed a few more qualifications for major tournaments, and after competing at the 1win Series Dota 2 Fall, finishing in 7th place. The team also performed poorly at BLAST SLAM I, finishing in 9th-10th place.
January 3, 2025, Ceb returned to OG. On January 29 OG moved Ari to inactive. Tamir daze Tokpanov took his place on the roster. The renewed roster failed at PGL Wallachia Season 3, finishing 16th.
On March 26, Ceb, 23savage and xNova left the team. Soon, rumors began circulating online that OG had shown interest in Night Pulse players and was attempting to poach them. Soon after, OG officially unveiled a new roster featuring Davai Lama and Kidaro. Eventually, NP representatives accused OG Esports of player poaching and revealed the details of the conflict.
- April 4, 2025 - OG introduced a new midlaner and carry, and the updated roster looked like this: 423, Stormstormer, Davai Lama, Daze, Kidaro.
After two weeks, Davai Lama announced the end of his cooperation with the club. During his time with the team, he participated in several tournaments but failed to achieve notable results. OG did not qualify for DreamLeague Season 26, placed 8th at CCT Dota 2 Series 8, and finished 5th at FISSURE Special.
- May 5, 2025 - KheZu, who had been coaching the team since September 2024, left the roster of his own accord.
- May 6, 2025 - N0tail took on the role of coach and became the head of the Dota 2 division.
- On May 7, Inji Shad Lub joined the roster on loan, and the organization finalized the lineup for the remainder of the current season.
With its updated roster, the team made its debut in May at FISSURE Universe: Episode 5 Play-In, but failed to advance to the main stage of the tournament, finishing in 5th place. In addition, the team failed to qualify for Riyadh Masters 2025 and TI14 this summer. OG also participated in PGL Wallachia Season #5 but failed to make it out of the group stage.
At the beginning of September, OG took part in CIS Battle 2 and became the champions of the tournament.
On September 18, Nuengnara 23savage Teeramahanon left OG and became a free agent. A day later, Daniel Stormstormer Schoetzau also left the team. Igor Stojkov Stojkov is the team's new mid laner. The club has also introduced an assistant coach, Mark HoviteY Abrasnikov.
On October 29, OG announced the complete disbandment of its roster.
On November 8, the organization OG officially signed the Team Aureus roster.
The first tournament for the updated team was PGL Wallachia Season 6, where the roster managed to secure 5–6th place.
At the beginning of December, OG competed in BLAST Slam V finishing 5–6th after reaching the tournament playoffs.
At the beginning of February 2026, the team competed at BLAST SLAM VI, where they took third place, losing to Team Liquid in the playoff stage. At the following DreamLeague Season 28, OG finished 9th-10th, being eliminated in the group stage, as well as on PGL Wallachia Season 7.
