The organizers have allocated $1,500,000 in prize money for direct tournament participants – for the first time at the Tier-1 level, the coach and the players of the main squad will receive the same reward. No participant in the championship will be left without a prize – even for 29-32 places, a payment of $21,000 per team is provided.
In addition, the organizers have budgeted $364,000 for Club Incentives – an additional bonus for professional clubs whose representatives have made it into the top 16.

What is Esports Nations Cup 2026

ENC 2026 is the first-ever analogue of the esports Olympics, where the best players will compete in 16 different esports and represent their national teams, rather than professional clubs.

The Dota 2 tournament will be the highlight of the first week of the competition and will be held from November 2 to 8 in the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh. 32 countries will fight for a prize pool of $1,500,000.

88 teams have registered to participate in the Dota 2 Esports Nations Cup 2026, and 16 of them have received direct invites to the tournament based on their national rankings. Another 14 participants will be determined by the results of regional qualifiers, and the last two places in the championship are: 1 Solidarity slot at the decision of the organizers and 1 slot for the host country, Saudi Arabia.

The ranking of each national team directly depends on the players in its squad, and the key difference from other professional events is the importance of coaches – they are the ones who form the rosters of their national teams.

"For the first time in Dota 2, players don't fight for the Aegis or prize money – they compete for their nations"

Why Esports Nations Cup Matters

The first tournament of the Esports Nations Cup series opens a new page in the history of both Dota 2 and esports in general. For more than a decade, players and teams have been competing only at the club level, and their goal was to succeed at the main tournaments of the year – The International and Esports World Cup.

This time, the main motivation of the players will not be winning the legendary Aegis of Champions or a significant amount of prize money, but the opportunity to represent their country on the international stage. We will witness the emergence of new rivalries and matches that we could not even dream of before: USA vs China, Ukraine vs Denmark and many more interesting games.

The organizers of ENC 2026 received more than 630 applications from 152 countries in all types of esports, so we can say with confidence that the world is looking forward to following this large-scale event.
