Bio
William Blitz Lee is a former American professional player, currently a caster, coach and one of the most popular English-speaking Dota 2 streamers. William has also attended all The International tournaments since 2014 as part of the coverage team.
William is a veteran of the American pro scene, but unlike his colleagues like Fear and Universe, he couldn't boast any big titles or at least participation in the main event of the year. Early in his Dota 2 career he was a member of Team Root, Turtle Masters, and Team Dignitas, but nothing is known about his achievements from that time. William's first serious project was For Our Utopia: he teamed up with Korean players to participate in the Nexon Sponsorship League Season 2, but the team was defeated by MVP Phoenix, dropped out of the tournament and soon disbanded.
In early 2014, Blitz teamed up with SexyBamboe, Eosin, Corey and Purge to form ZephyrDota. The team won Nexon Sponsorship League Season 3, Korean Dota League Tier 1, and Korean Dota League. However, after failing at The International 2014 qualifiers, ZephyrDota could only place 3rd at Korea Dota League Season 2 Tier 1 and 4th at Korea Dota League Season 3 and Korea Dota League Season 4 before disbanding.
After that, Blitz ended his pro career and focused on coaching, combining it with streaming and covering tournaments. Thus, he managed to work with several Team Liquid rosters, coached Digital Chaos, Thunderbirds and Planet Odd.
In 2019 William returned to coaching Liquid again, but the team under his leadership achieved significant results only in 2022, taking 3rd place at The International 2022. After TI , the team had a series of defeats in the finals of major tournaments. Liquid finished 2nd at 7 tier-1 championships. The streak was interrupted at The International 2024, where Team Liquid won an extremely confident victory without losing a single map in the playoffs.
After TI 33 left Team Liquid, and SaberLight took his place. In the renewed roster the team played at BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024, but showed a less successful result, taking 8th place. The roster also took 6th place at DreamLeague Season 24. Later the team managed to qualify for ESL One Bangkok 2024 and won the 1win Series Dota 2 Fall. After that, Liquid competed at BLAST SLAM I, finishing in the top 6. In December, the team participated in a tournament in Bangkok, where they placed 2nd.
In February 2025, Team Liquid placed 7th at the FISSURE PLAYGROUND, BLAST SLAM II and DreamLeague Season 25. In March, the team became champions of PGL Wallachia: Season 3, but Blitz missed this championship due to visa issues. At the subsequent FISSURE Universe Ep.4, the team placed 7th-8th. In April, the team competed at ESL One Raleigh 2025 but lost in the second round of the lower bracket, finishing in 5th-6th place. In the same month, Liquid became the PGL Wallachia Season 4 champion.
In May, the team participated in BLAST SLAM III, where they lost in the first round of the playoffs and were eliminated, finishing 9th–10th. At DreamLeague Season 26, the team finished in 8th place.
On June 29, 2025, Team Liquid couldn’t defeat BetBoom Team with a stand-in, and thus the team leaves PGL Wallachia Season 5 in 3rd place.
In July 2025, Team Liquid participated in the Riyadh Masters 2025. They were eliminated in the quarterfinals after losing to Team Falcons. Liquid finished in 5th place and earned $125,000 in prize money. At The International 2025, Liquid failed to defend their title as reigning world champions. The team didn't even make it to the playoffs.
At the end of October, Liquid participated in FISSURE PLAYGROUND 2, where they finished in 4th place after losing in the semifinal of the Playoff stage. At BLAST SLAM IV, the team finished in 8th place, and at PGL Wallachia Season 6, they made it into the top 3. At DreamLeague Season 27, Liquid finished their performance in the group stage with a score of 3-3.
At the beginning of February 2026, the team competed at BLAST SLAM VI, where they became champions by defeating Natus Vincere in the grand final. At the following DreamLeague Season 28, Liquid took 3rd place, and at PGL Wallachia Season 7 they reached the finals but lost to Team Yandex.
The next event for the team was the online tournament PREMIER SERIES, which was treated as practice, where they finished 5th–6th. At the following LAN event, PGL Wallachia Season 8, Liquid reached the lower bracket semifinal, where they lost to Team Falcons and finished in 4th place.
