Bio

Jian Wei xNova Yap is a Malaysian professional Dota 2 player who has gone from a rookie to one of the top Full Support players in East Asia and the world in three years. As a member of PSG.LGD, Jian won silver and bronze at The International.

Jian started appearing on tournament rosters in 2013, but started playing consistently in 2015. His first serious team, Who2Bet, finished second at the South East Asia Dota 2 Championship. He later joined the Malaysian team WarriorsGaming.Unity.

WarriorsGaming.Unity quickly gained attention by winning The Boston Major 2016 open qualifications and earning a spot in the main stage. The team finished in the top 8 out of 16 and earned $125k. Following this success, they won the majority of tier 3 tournaments and placed third at ROG MASTERS 2017. After his contract expired, Jian moved to China and joined LGD Gaming.

Their first successes included second places at StarLadder i-League Invitational Season 4 and Dota 2 Asia Championships 2018, bringing the club $200k. After that, LGD Gaming became PSG.LGD. Under this brand, xNova and his team won EPICENTER XL, MDL Changsha Major and finished third at the China Dota2 Supermajor. At The International 2018, they were the favorites but finished second behind OG. At The International 2019, PSG.LGD had a great result again, finishing in third place.

After playing for PSG.LGD, xNova spent over a year in EHOME before joining Royal Never Give Up. With them, he placed 2nd at the Huya Winter Invitational 2021, 5-6 at the Riyadh Masters 2022, and 13-16 at The International 2022.

In the fall of 2023, Jian joins Invictus Gaming. Together with it he participates in the qualification for ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023, where the team took 1st place at the closed qualifiers and qualified for the tournament. The squad placed 5th-6th at the main portion.

In January 2024, the team participated in qualifications for BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024, DreamLeague Season 22 and ESL One Birmingham 2024G2.IG managed to qualify for DreamLeague and LAN Birmingham, but at the BetBoom Dacha closed qualification, the squad was defeated by Blacklist International and dropped out of the tournament in 7th place. Soon PGL Wallachia: Season #1 started, where xNova and his team placed 4th. In June, the qualifiers for Riyadh Masters 2024 and The International started, where the player easily qualified for the main stage of the two most important tournaments of the year: he finished in 19th place at the first.

In August, G2.IG participated in the Clavision Snow Ruyi Invitational, where they reached the quarterfinals and finished in 6th place. At the same time, xNova finished 7th at the FISSURE Universe Ep 3. At The International 2024, the team did not perform well, finishing the tournament in 13th place after being eliminated in the first round of the lower bracket playoffs.

  • October 19, 2024 - xNova joined OG as a stand-in.

In the new team he played at RES Regional Champions, finishing in 4th place, and also failed to qualify for ESL One Bangkok 2024. A little later OG was invited to the 1win Series Dota 2 Fall, but even there the player placed only 7th. The team also performed poorly at BLAST SLAM I, finishing in 9th-10th place.

The team started 2025 with a 3rd place finish at Asian Dragon Series: Continental Collision. In March, the roster failed, finishing in last place at PGL Wallachia: Season 3. Soon after, xNova left the team.

At the end of May 2025, the organization revealed its roster for The International 2025 qualifiers, featuring well-known Chinese pro players led by Lu Somnus Yao and Jian Wei xNova Yap. Unfortunately, the team had a poor performance, losing in the lower bracket. After failing to qualify, the organization announced the disbandment of the roster.

On August 3, 2025, Xtreme Gaming were eliminated from Clavision Masters 2025, one step away from the grand final. The team finished in 3rd place and earned $87,500.

  • It was later revealed that poloson will continue treatment for his injury and miss The International 2025. His place will also be taken by xNova.

In September, Xtreme Gaming participated in The International 2025, reaching the grand final of the tournament but losing to Team Falcons in the championship series and finishing in 2nd place.

In November, the team participated in PGL Wallachia Season 6 where they failed to advance past the group stage. At DreamLeague Season 27, the team finished in 4-th place, and at BLAST SLAM VI, the team didn't even make it to the playoffs. At DreamLeague Season 28Xtreme made it to the top 4, and at PGL Wallachia Season 7 once again failed to reach the main stage.

At the end of March, Xtreme Gaming placed third at ESL One Birmingham 2026, losing to Team Yandex in the lower bracket final of the Playoff stage.

The championship of April for the team was PGL Wallachia Season 8, where Xtreme ended their run in the group stage.
