Most series on day one ended with a 2:0 score, and only Team Spirit and Xtreme Gaming played three maps against their opponents. The biggest surprise of the day was OG Esports confidently defeating PARIVISION - the CIS team failed to impose their playstyle and lost 0:2.
Natus Vincere also had an excellent start, securing a confident victory over Heroic. Offlaner Yuriy pma Proс stood out in particular, finishing both maps without a single death.
Tomorrow, the second-round series will be played: today’s winners will face each other, while the losing teams will also meet in head-to-head matches.
Day 2
The second day of the tournament has ended, and the leaders of the group stage are now clear.
Most series once again ended 2:0, with the favorites confidently confirming their status. By the end of the day, the leading teams were Team Spirit, Team Liquid, BetBoom Team and OG Esports.
Team Cobra, Roar Gaming, Nigma Galaxy and Yakult Brothers performed the worst - none of them secured a single win, and tomorrow they will face each other in the first elimination matches.
Day 3
Team Spirit and Team Liquid were the first to earn a spot in the playoffs, confidently defeating BetBoom Team and OG, who will compete for a place in the main event in the fourth round of the group stage. At the same time, Roar Gaming and Team Cobra were among the first to be eliminated from the championship, losing to Yakult Brothers and Nigma Galaxy. In the 1-1 bracket, PARIVISION, Heroic, Natus Vincere, and MOUZ won today's matches, while Tidebound, Tundra Esports, GamerLegion, and Xtreme Gaming are one step closer to elimination.
Day 4
Today, MOUZ, OG, and PARIVISION secured their spots in the playoffs. Natus Vincere, Heroic, and BetBoom Team will continue to battle against GamerLegion, Tundra Esports, and Xtreme Gaming for a slot in the main event in the fifth round of the group stage. Nigma Galaxy, Tidebound, and Yakult Brothers have finished their run in the championship.
Day 5
The group stage has come to an end and now all playoff participants are known.
Today, three elimination series were played, with the winners securing spots in the playoffs. In the first match, Tundra Esports confidently defeated Natus Vincere 2:0 and advanced further. In the second series, BetBoom Team faced GamerLegion. Despite GamerLegion winning the first map, they couldn’t close out the series, and BetBoom took two maps in a row, eliminating their opponent.
The final match of the day was played between the Chinese team Xtreme Gaming and Heroic. In head-to-head history, Xtreme lead with five wins and two losses, but this time Heroic proved stronger and secured the last playoff slot.
Day 6
The first day of the playoff stage has come to an end and here’s a summary.
The opening series took place between PARIVISION and MOUZ. Vladimir No[o]ne Minenko’s team found their rhythm and won 2:1. It’s worth noting that MOUZ carry Remko Crystallis Arets returned to the roster after illness, but unfortunately it didn’t help the team, and the third map ended in just 26 minutes.
In the second match, Team Spirit confidently defeated Heroic and advanced to the next round, where tomorrow they will face PARIVISION in a CIS derby.
The next match surprised fans as OG Esports defeated BetBoom Team 2:1. On the second map, BetBoom tried running Jakiro in mid, but the experiment failed, and now the team will have to fight through the lower bracket. In the final match, Team Liquid played excellently, defeating Tundra Esports in a clean sweep.
No team was eliminated today, but tomorrow the first lower bracket matches will begin, where a loss will mean elimination from the tournament.
Day 7
The second day of the playoff stage has come to an end, and it's time to recap.
The first two series of the day were elimination matches, where teams fought in the lower bracket. In the opening match, MOUZ had little trouble dealing with Heroic, winning 2:0 and continuing their tournament run. In the second elimination match, BetBoom Team faced Tundra Esports - a tense three-map series ended with a victory for BB Team, who outplayed their opponent and sent Tundra home.
Next, the upper bracket matches kicked off. The first showdown became a CIS derby between Team Spirit and PARIVISION. On the first map, the "dragons" failed to put up any fight, managing only two kills, and the game ended in just 25 minutes. However, Spirit did not break down and confidently secured the second and third maps, advancing to the upper-bracket final. PARIVISION dropped to the lower bracket, where they will face BetBoom Team tomorrow.
Spirit’s next opponent was decided in the series between OG and Team Liquid, which became the most spectacular match of the day. On the first map, OG dominated for nearly an hour, but one disastrous fight at the 59-minute mark nullified their advantage and Liquid turned the game around to claim the win. On the second map, OG played more calmly and closed it out to equalize the score.
The decisive map once again repeated the scenario of the first. OG controlled the game, and the team’s carry, John Natsumi- Anthony Vargas, even bought a Divine Rapier at the 35-minute mark while playing Gyrocopter. However, almost immediately Liquid managed to kill the enemy carry and once again completely flipped the game, finishing off their opponent and sending OG to the lower bracket.
Day 8
The penultimate day of the tournament has come to an end, and tomorrow we will finally learn the champion.
Today featured three elimination matches. In the first one, PARIVISION couldn’t handle BetBoom Team and became the first team to exit the tournament - the series ended 2:1 in favor of BB Team. The opening map was a complete disaster for PARIVISION: the team managed to secure only three kills in 36 minutes. They haven’t shown such a weak performance in a very long time.
Next came the match between MOUZ and OG, where the “mice” confidently defeated their opponent 2:0 and advanced further. After a short break, they had to face BetBoom Team for a spot in the lower-bracket final. The series went the full distance, and MOUZ claimed their second win of the day, eliminating a second opponent in a row. BetBoom Team finished their run in 4th place.
The upper-bracket match also took place today, determining the first grand finalist. Team Spirit faced Team Liquid. The phenomenal performance of the “dragons’” carry, Ilya Yatoro Mulyarchuk, on the second and third maps became the key to Spirit’s victory. Despite Liquid winning the first map, they couldn’t close out the series and will now face MOUZ in the lower bracket.
Tomorrow we’ll see the lower-bracket final followed immediately by the BO5 grand final.
