ESL has recalculated EPT points for Azure Ray and Xtreme Gaming
ESL has recalculated the EPT ranking points following dramatic changes to Azure Ray and Xtreme Gaming. Xtreme, although not represented at recent EPTs, has been placed in the top 3 due to Zhao XinQ Zixing, Guo Xm Hongcheng and Lin Xxs Jing and their success at ESL One: Kuala Lumpur 2023.
As Azure Ray find themselves in a situation where they have to make forced lineup changes - they have 3 replacements and points lou and 天命 have now been canceled. Ori, fy and Faith_bian are expected to be the newcomers to AR, but this will not change their status in the EPT points table in any way.
After their championship at ESL One: Kuala Lumpur 2023, Azure Ray had 4800 points. Since 3 players from their team moved to Xtreme Gaming and there were 2 substitutions, there was a 30% penalty on EPT points and so Xtreme now has 3360 points.
Changes in the ESL Pro Tour rankings are very important, because the best 4 teams at the end of it, guarantee themselves invites to the next major tournaments. They will also get closer to the Riyadh Masters.
