Azure Ray (formerly known as Ybb Gaming) is a Chinese cybersport team specializing in the discipline of Dota 2. This team is the second lineup of the Xtreme Gaming organization.
On November 27, 2021, Azure Ray's first roster was announced, which includes Storm and AYuNiD, who previously played for Xtreme Gaming, as well as lou, 928 and Rain. For the latter three players, Azure Ray became the first cybersport team in their careers. At the same time, the team participated in their first tournament, the DPC CN 2021/2022 Tour 1: Open Qualifier, which they managed to win.
For Azure Ray, the year 2022 was marked by two consecutive victories in DPC CN 2021/2022 Tour 1: Open Qualifier #1 and DPC CN 2023 Tour 1: Closed Qualifier. During this period, the team only participated in five tournaments related to DPC and The International, making their participation more rushed and limited, but very meaningful.Toward the end of the year, Azure Ray's core roster was left with Captain zzq, 7e, Beyond, 天命 and the returning lou from Xtreme Gaming.
The year 2023 started off very successfully for this young team. Azure Ray took first place in the DPC CN 2023 Tour 1: Division II, which allowed them to advance to the first division. This squad showed ambition and determination not to rest on their laurels, and at DPC CN 2023 Tour 2: Division I, the team placed 6th, securing their long-term participation in the first division. After that, Azure Ray was able to qualify for The International 12, where they placed 4th and earned $182,733. During the off-season, Somnus, Chalice and fy put their careers on hold and decided to focus on streaming.
After TI12, Azure Ray is forced to make 3 roster changes - XinQ, Xm and Xxs joined the team to play at ESL One: Kuala Lumpur 2023. In the end, this roster made an incredible comeback against Gaimin Gladiators from the score 0:2 and the grand final ended 3:2. Thus, AR sensationally became the champion of ESL One: Kuala Lumpur 2023. After that, XinQ, Xm and Xxs go to Xtreme Gaming and take away some EPT points. Azure Ray has restocked the roster with Ori, Faith_bian (aka Bach) and fy resuming their professional careers. The new AR roster will debut at the closed qualification for BB Dacha Dubai 2024 among teams from China and Southeast Asia.
January, 2024 - Azure Ray qualifies for BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024 and DreamLeague Season 22. The lineup was as follows: lou, Ori, Bach, fy, and 天命.
Azure Ray managed to reach the grand final of qualification for ESL One: Birmingham 2024, but lost there to G2.iG. The match ended with a score of 2:3.
Azure Ray finished 4th and 12th respectively at BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024 and Dreamleague Season 22, and also finished in the top 3 at Elite League 2024 and 15th at PGL Wallachia: Season 1.
Closer to summer, the qualifiers for the two most important tournaments of the year - The International 2024 and Riyadh Masters 2024 - began, but the team was only able to qualify for the Riyadh Masters, where it finished in 20th place.
- July 17, 2024 - Azure Ray announced a new roster: Han and 皮球 replaced fy and Ori, while 天命 remained in reserve.
Despite the disbanding of the team, Azure Ray did not withdraw from participating in the LAN tournament Clavision Snow Ruyi Invitational. With a new lineup, the team secured 7th place, exiting the tournament after losing to Natus Vincere.
Later, the team competed at DreamLeague Season 24, but did not get even out of the group stage. After that, the organization announced that it was going inactive.
At the end of May 2025, the organization revealed its roster for The International 2025 qualifiers, featuring well-known Chinese pro players led by Lu Somnus Yao and Jian Wei xNova Yap. Unfortunately, the team had a poor performance, losing in the lower bracket. After failing to qualify, the organization announced the disbandment of the roster.
