History

Team Liquid is a European esports organization. Its first roster consisted of players from the United States who came together in December 2012: TC, BuLba, FLUFFNSTUFF, ixmike88 and Korok. This team received a direct invitation to The International 2013 and was able to reach 7-8th place.

Although Team Liquid showed good results in the American region, they were unable to win large tournaments. Therefore, before The International 2014, changes were made to the team: only TC and BuLba remained, and new players included qojqva, DeMoN and Waytosexy. This team also failed to win the main tournament and was disbanded after the failure.

In the fall of 2015, Team Liquid introduced a new roster for performances in Europe. Signing the orphaned 5Jungz was the most successful decision for the organization. Experienced FATA- and KuroKy, along with talents JerAx, MATUMBAMAN, and MinD_ContRoL, immediately attracted the attention of fans from around the world. Despite the failure in the qualifiers for the Frankfurt Major tournament, the team's potential was already noticeable, which was fully revealed in the spring of 2016 when they won the EPICENTER tournament, took second place at Valve's Major tournaments in Shanghai and Manila. Team Liquid was considered a favorite at The International 2016, but took 7-8th place.

After the main tournament, FATA- and JerAx left the team and were replaced by Miracle- and BuLba. Unfortunately, the latter was quickly replaced by GH, who after the first tournaments received the nickname "the best support player in the world." It was that lineup that turned out to be the most successful in the history of Team Liquid. KuroKy lineup in 2017 won two Starladder tournaments, EPICENTER 2017, DreamLeague Season 7, and won The International 2017.

The fate of the team's roster unfolded less brightly: in 2018, the team won only one tournament, and took fourth place at The International 2018. In 2019, Team Liquid won the MDL Macau 2019 tournament and took second place at the MDL Disneyland Paris Major. However, before the EPICENTER XL tournament, changes were made to the roster: MATUMBAMAN left the team, and vice-world champion w33 took his place. The updated Team Liquid lineup took second place at the Moscow tournament, and then took second place at The International 2019.

The tournament in Shanghai became the last for that team. In the fall of 2019, the entire roster left the organization, which signed a five-man squad from Alliance led by iNSaNiA in their place. The updated Team Liquid proved to be a strong team, showing good results in offline and online tournaments, such as: DreamLeague Season 13: The Leipzig Major, MDL Changsha Major, and OGA Dota PIT 2020 Online: EU / CIS.

2021 and 2022 were not the most successful years for the iNSaNia team. The roster failed to achieve high results at any tournament of the season, and the biggest and perhaps the only success was the 3rd place at The International 2022. Also during the year there were changes in the roster: Offlaner Ludwig zai Wahlberg joined the team, m1CKe changed his position to Midlaner, and his Carry position was taken by Lasse MATUMBAMAN Urpalainen, also left the fourth position player Tommy Taiga Le, his place was taken by Boxi, who returned from inactivity.

At the end of 2022, a new Midlaner, Michal Nisha Jankowski, was added to the squad. With the new player, the club had a great season. During the year the team became silver champions of such tournaments as Lima Major 2023ESL One Berlin Major 2023Bali Major 2023, Riyadh Masters 2023, in addition, the club took 5th-6th place at The International 2023. After TI, zai announced that he is going inactive indefinitely. Offlaner Neta 33 Shapira took his place on the team. After that, Team Liquid participated in ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023, but with a changed lineup: the new Offlaner could not go to the tournament in Malaysia due to visa problems and was replaced by Jonas SabeRLighT- Volek. Together with stand-in, Liquid managed to take 3rd place.
