The International 2025: format, schedule, results, and tournament bracket
The International 2025 (also commonly called TI2025 or TI14) is the fourteenth annual tournament of The International series, which will be held in Hamburg, Germany. Sixteen teams will compete in the championship. The starting prize pool is $1,600,000. An additional 30% from all team and talent bundle sales are added to the prize pool for the tournament.
As in the previous year, The International 2025 is divided into two distinct phases: the first phase — the group stage and a special elimination round, branded as part of “The Road to The International” — will take place from September 4 to 7. The second phase, The International playoffs, will take place from September 11 to 14 at Barclays Arena.
This is the first tournament in the series to feature the Swiss system, with two groups instead of a round-robin. At the end of the group stage, the three strongest teams with a 4:0 record and two teams with a 4:1 record will advance directly to the playoffs. Rosters with a 3:2 record will face rosters with a 2:3 record in elimination matches — the winners of these matches will also advance to the next stage.
Of the 16 teams, only 8 will advance to the playoffs. In the main stage, all teams will start from the quarterfinals of the upper bracket. All championship matches are Bo3, except for Bo5 in the Grand Final.
Game Day 8: Results (14.09.2025):
On the decisive day, two matches took place. The first was the lower bracket final between PARIVISION and Xtreme Gaming. The series ended 2-1, with the Chinese team emerging victorious and securing a spot in the grand final. PVISION finished in third place.
In the grand final, Xtreme Gaming faced Team Falcons. Despite a long and demanding day, XG managed to put up a strong fight, and all maps in the BO5 series were played. Unfortunately for the Chinese squad, they couldn’t claim victory, and Wang Ame Chunyu once again fell short of the title. Team Falcons demonstrated their superiority and rightfully claimed the Aegis.
In addition, it is worth highlighting a new feature on our website — the prediction system. For the first time, viewers could not only follow the progress of the grand final but also predict the outcome of each map. Interestingly, this time users showed a high level of accuracy: in four out of five cases, their predictions completely matched the actual results of the matches, except for determining the overall tournament champion. Most of them believed in Xtreme Gaming’s victory.
Results of previous matchdays:
Day 1
The first day of one of the main tournaments of the year has come to an end, and we can sum up the initial results.
PARIVISION, Xtreme Gaming, Tidebound and Team Falcons started confidently, winning both of their matches. Tournament favorites such as Team Liquid and Team Spirit showed less stable results with a 1-1 score by the end of the day. The worst start came from Team Nemesis, Heroic, Boom Esports and Wildcard, who failed to secure a single victory.
Special attention should be given to Xtreme Gaming carry Wang Ame Chunyu, who died only once in five maps played. Team Spirit carry Ilya Yatoro Mulyarchuk also made his mark by delivering the tournament’s first Rampage while playing Shadow Fiend.
Drafts also brought surprises: PARIVISION twice picked Tinker as a carry and won both times, pairing him with the already classic Slark and position four Alchemist from Edgar 9Class Naltakyan. Among items, Helm of the Dominator became an unexpected trend, appearing in nearly every match and sometimes even on two or three heroes within the same team.
Day 2
The second day of The International 2025 has come to an end, and here are the results.
The leading positions are held by two Chinese teams - Tidebound and Xtreme Gaming, who continue to confidently defeat their opponents. Notably, Xtreme Gaming ended Team Falcons nine-match winning streak today. Team Spirit, BetBoom Team and Aurora Gaming are gaining momentum throughout the tournament and secured victories in their matches.
The group stage is nearing its conclusion, and teams such as Wildcard, Boom Esports, Nigma Galaxy, and Natus Vincere are at risk of elimination, as each of them has only one series win. Meanwhile, Team Nemesis suffered their fourth straight loss and finished their run at the tournament in 16th place.
Tomorrow, the first Playoff participant will be determined, along with two more teams that will exit the championship.
Day 3
The first stage of the group has concluded, and we can see who the real tournament favorites are.
After this stage, Xtreme Gaming won all their matches and secured a spot in the playoffs. Joining them in the upper bracket are BetBoom Team, Tidebound and Heroic. The surprises of the day were Aurora Gaming, who defeated Team Spirit 2:0 and Heroic, who left Tundra Esports with no chance.
Today, three more teams left the tournament: Natus Vincere lost to Nigma Galaxy, BOOM Esports were defeated by Wildcard, and Yakutou Brothers fell to Heroic in the final elimination match, for whom this was the second series of the day and also exited the event.
Thus, 12 teams remain in the competition, four of which have already secured a spot in the upper bracket. Tomorrow, the tiebreaker matches will take place to determine the full list of playoff participants.
Day 4
The second stage of the tournament has concluded and now all playoff participants are known.
Today's matches included four games. In the first, Nigma Galaxy defeated Aurora Gaming 2:1 and entered the top-8 teams of the tournament, despite initially being considered group outsiders. PARIVISION confidently overcame Wildcard 2:0. Next, Tundra Esports defeated Team Liquid and also advanced to the playoffs, surprising many as Liquid was initially considered the stronger team.
The final match of the day featured Team Falcons against Team Spirit. Previously, Team Spirit was considered one of the main favorites according to bookmakers and fans. However, the series ended 2:0 in favor of Team Falcons, and Spirit left the tournament. Both games were lengthy: the first lasted 77 minutes, and the second over 45 minutes.
The group stage was full of surprises, and now 8 teams remain in the tournament, who will meet in the playoff stage after a short break.
Day 5
The first day of the playoffs has come to an end, and the upper bracket quarterfinal matches have been played. The favorites won all of today's matches, although Nigma Galaxy came close to eliminating BetBoom Team to the lower bracket. The rest of the series ended with a score of 2:0.
Tomorrow, Xtreme Gaming and Team Falcons will battle PARIVISION and BetBoom Team for a spot in the top 3 of the championship, while Tundra Esports and Tidebound will face off against Heroic and Nigma Galaxy in the elimination matches.
It should be noted that Troll Warlord remains undefeated at TI. At the end of the group stage, the character did not lose a single one of the 8 maps, and today brought victory to Xtreme Gaming and Nigma Galaxy. At the same time, Timbersaw, who was picked today by Tidebound, lost all 8 matches at the tournament.
Day 6
The results of the second day of the playoffs were less predictable than the previous day. In the elimination series, Heroic and Nigma Galaxy defeated Tundra Esports and Tidebound, securing their place in the top 6 of the championship.
PARIVISION also surprised by easily defeating Xtreme Gaming. The first map of this match ended with a score of 3-9 and entered the top 5 games in The International series tournaments with the lowest total number of kills — there were less active games only at TI6. On the second map, Wang Ame Chunyu became the anti-record holder — his Bristleback with Battle Fury became the fourth in TI history, the build's win rate remains zero.
Only in the last series of the day did the favorites win. Team Falcons secured their place in the top 3 of the tournament and eliminated BetBoom Team to the lower bracket. It should be noted that Amar ATF al-Assaf entered the top 6 players with the highest win rate on his signature Mars — 66.46% in 161 matches. Only 5 players with a higher number of games on their main heroes have a higher win rate — only the legendary Puck from S4, Lone Druid — AdmiralBulldog, Storm Spirit — Somnus, Io — N0tail, and Chen — Akke.
Tomorrow, the first participant in the grand final will be determined, and three more teams will leave the competition.
Day 7
At the end of the penultimate playoff day, the first finalist of the tournament was determined, while three teams ended their run. Four matches took place in total: one in the upper bracket and three in the lower. In the upper bracket, PARIVISION faced Team Falcons, where the "Falcons" confidently secured a spot in the grand final. PVISION, on the other hand, dropped to the lower bracket, where they had to wait for their opponent.
In the lower bracket, the day started with a match between Nigma Galaxy and Xtreme Gaming, where the Chinese squad claimed victory without much trouble. The next series brought a tense battle between Heroic and BetBoom Team: the match ended 2-1, and although BB Team advanced further, the outcome was far from certain.
The final highlight of the day was the clash between BetBoom Team and Xtreme Gaming, which started after the upper bracket final. The Russian squad fought until the very end and showed relatively solid gameplay, trying to hold onto a comeback. However, after a hard-fought series, it was BetBoom Team who exited the tournament, losing to the Chinese roster.
