History

BOOM Esports is an Indonesian esports organization founded in late 2016, also known as BOOM ID. Initially focused on CS:GO, their first Dota 2 roster emerged in January 2017. Notably, the organization has exclusively collaborated with Indonesian players, bringing in foreign talent only for organizational and coaching roles.

The initial roster of BOOM Esports included pro players such as Dreamocel, inYourdreaM, SaintDeLucaz, SnowbaLL and Varizh. They achieved success at the Indonesia Games Championship 2017, clinching the 1st place and earning around $7.5 thousand in prizes. However, the seemingly successful lineup began to disband as SnowbaLL and Varizh left, replaced by Khezcute and Jhocam.

The revamped BOOM Esports secured victory at the Indonesia Pride Gaming League, earning over $7 thousand in prizes, but major tournaments remained elusive. In winter 2018, Fbz replaced inYourdreaM, and the team triumphed at the Indonesia Games Championship 2018, securing 5-6th place at the PVP Esports Championship. Mikoto joined as a new player, replacing SaintDeLucaz.

BOOM Esports gained international recognition when they qualified for The Bucharest Minor, finishing 7-8th. Significant victories included a silver at the Asia Pacific Predator League 2019 and gold at ESL Indonesia Championship Season 1, bringing in over $50 thousand in prizes. They reached 5-6th place at the OGA Dota PIT Minor 2019.

In June 2019, Clairvoyance joined as the coach, and the position of position 4 support saw changes until November: Jhocam left, inYourdreaM briefly took his place before being replaced by Hyde. This lineup achieved notable success, securing 4th place at StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor Season 3, 3rd place at ESL One Los Angeles 2020 Online for the Southeast Asia region, and 2nd place at ESL One Birmingham 2020 Online and BTS Pro Series Season 2: Southeast Asia. The team's professional growth and ambitions became evident to the naked eye.

In early 2024, Pandaboo and SLATEM$ joined BOOM Esports. The team finished 5th-6th at PGL Wallachia Season 1 and 14th at Elite League 2024, after which Pandaboo left BOOM and DarkMago replaced SLATEM$ at mid. The revamped roster made appearances at RES Regional Series LATAM 2, PGL Wallachia: Season 1 and FISSURE Universe Ep.2, and also participated in qualifiers for Riyadh Masters 2024 and The International 2024, but were unsuccessful. In August, David Parker Nijo Flores' full team (including coach and analyst) left the BOOM Esports organization and began competing under the Team Waska tagline.

  • September 17, 2024 - BOOM Esports announced their return to the professional scene and introduced the new roster. The team qualified for ESL One Bangkok 2024, but failed to advance past the group stage.

Roster started 2025 with a 14th place finish at DreamLeague Season 25. After that, Fbz and Mac left the team and were replaced by Armel and Jabz. The updated roster competed at FISSURE Universe Ep.4, finishing in 11th place. By the end of April, Armel and Jabz had officially joined BOOM Esports. At DreamLeague Season 26, the roster finished in 13th place. In July, Adam Erwann 343 Shah bin Akhtar Hussain joined the team as assistant coach.

In 2025, the team qualified for The International 2025 but couldn’t reach the playoffs and finished the tournament in 15th place. In December, BOOM Esports disbanded its roster.
