Bio
Erik tOfu Engel is a professional Dota 2 player who plays the fourth position.
He began his esports career in League of Legends. From 2012, tOfu played for German teams. In September, he took third place at the ESL Pro Series Germany Winter Season 2012 Finals and was considered a promising player, but he never achieved significant success, although he occasionally placed in local championships.
After 2013, the player disappeared from the professional scene only to return six years later - but in Dota 2. tOfu began his path with little-known German teams, and since May 2020, he has been playing for EURONICS Gaming. The player's main achievement was reaching the final of ACL Masters #2, where his individual skill was noticed, and in early 2021, Erik joined Hellbear Smashers.
Together with Ace and Gilgir, tOfu immediately won three consecutive tournaments - two seasons of Snow Sweet Snow and DreamLeague Season 14 EU DPC: Lower Division. However, Hellbear Smashers failed to establish themselves in the upper league of Western Europe, losing all seven matches and dropping out immediately. After failing to qualify for The International 2021, the team reached the final of Dota 2 Champions League Season 2 but then ended their performance.
Before the Dota Pro Circuit 2021/22 season, tOfu transferred to a new team, Team Tickles, with Ace. The team earned a slot in the upper division with ViKin.gg and finished their debut season in second place, then won at DreamLeague Season 16 DPC WEU: Regional Finals.
In February 2022, tOfu's squad was signed with the organization Gaimin Gladiators. Under the new tag, tOfu and his teammates once again took second place in the DPC league and then made it to the top 4 of the major tournament, ESL One Stockholm 2022. That season, the team qualified for The International 2022, where they took 7-8th place.
In the 2022/2023 season, after the change of mider, Eric and his team won the Lima Major 2023, Berlin Major 2023, Bali Major 2023 , as well as the 19th and 20th seasons of the Dreamleague.
Gaimin Gladiators started their journey at TI 12 with the lower playoffs. Gradually progressing through the tournament grid, GG reached the final of the lower bracket, where they faced LGD Gaming and defeated the Chinese team 2:0. In the grand finals, the team faced Team Spirit, but lost to the TI 10 champions by a score of 3-0, taking 2nd place in the tournament. The year 2023 for tOfu ended with participation in ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023, where GG got there by direct invitational. At the end of the tournament, the squad took 2nd place, losing to Azure Ray in the grand final of the tournament with a score of 3:2.
The start of the 2024 season was not so successful for the Gladiators. First fifth place at Betboom Dacha Dubai 2024, DreamLeague Season 22 and Elite League 2024, and then 12th at ESl One Birmingham 2024 and 7th at PGL Wallachia Season 1. However, the team managed to place 2nd at DreamLeague Season 23 and the 1win Series Summer. And at the Riyadh Masters 2024, tOfu with Gladiators picked up his first win in nine months for $1,500,000. In September of the same year, the team went to The International 2024, where they had previously received a direct invitation. The guys got to the grand finals, where they met Team Liquid, but lost the meeting with a score of 3-0, taking an honorable second place at the tournament.
In October, the team competed at BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024 and DreamLeague Season 24, but was one of the first to be eliminated from both tournaments. The team later failed to qualify for ESL One Bangkok 2024 and finished 3rd at the 1win Series Dota 2 Fall. After that, GG competed at BLAST SLAM I, finishing in the top 6, and in February 2025, the team placed 9th at the FISSURE PLAYGROUND and was a finalist for BLAST SLAM II. At the DreamLeague Season 25 roster finished in 12th place. In March, the team competed at PGL Wallachia: Season 3, where they finished in 7th-8th place.
Later in March, as part of Gaimin Gladiators, participated in FISSURE Universe Ep.4, where the team managed to reach the grand final but was unable to claim the championship title, finishing in 2nd place.
On May 6, the team participated in BLAST SLAM III, finishing their run in the semifinals and placing 3rd–4th. At DreamLeague Season 26, GG finished in 5th place. Also in the summer, the team took 2nd place at PGL Wallachia Season 5.
In early July, the team participated in FISSURE Universe: Episode 5, where they performed poorly and failed to reach the playoff stage.
At the Riyadh Masters 2025 tournament, Gaimin Gladiators reached the playoff stage but lost their first match and exited the competition, finishing in 7th–8th place.
On August 2, 2025, Gaimin Gladiators were eliminated from Clavision DOTA2 Masters 2025: Snow-Ruyi. The team finished in 5th place and earned $43,750.
In August, the organization announced its withdrawal from The International 2025 due to internal conflict within the roster.
On October 9, 2025, support Erik tOfu Engel officially became part of Team Liquid. At the end of October, Liquid participated in FISSURE PLAYGROUND 2, where they finished in 4th place after losing in the semifinal of the Playoff stage. At BLAST SLAM IV, the team finished in 8th place, and at PGL Wallachia Season 6, they made it into the top 3. At DreamLeague Season 27, Liquid finished their performance in the group stage with a score of 3-3.
At the beginning of February 2026, the team competed at BLAST SLAM VI, where they became champions by defeating Natus Vincere in the grand final. At the following DreamLeague Season 28, Liquid took 3rd place, and at PGL Wallachia Season 7 they reached the finals but lost to Team Yandex.
The next event for the team was the online tournament PREMIER SERIES, which was treated as practice, where they finished 5th–6th. At the following LAN event, PGL Wallachia Season 8, Liquid reached the lower bracket semifinal, where they lost to Team Falcons and finished in 4th place.
