Wildcard officially disbands Dota 2 roster
Wildcard players have signed up for the European open qualifiers for BLAST Slam V under the name Apex Genesis. It was under this tag that the roster competed before being signed by the organization.
Earlier in 2025, the esports organization Wildcard, owned by content creator Kaitlyn Amouranth Siragusa, returned to Dota 2 and signed the Apex Genesis roster. Shortly before that, the team managed to win the American online tournament EPL WS: America. S14.
There had already been rumors about a possible roster disband, and on October 3 the organization officially confirmed the dissolution of the lineup. The team will continue competing under its old tag. Another challenge for the roster was BLAST’s refusal to hold qualifiers for America, which forced them to register in the European region.
Recently, the squad also lost their coach - Radu BliNcc Ionut Musat left the club after his contract expired. He had been working with the roster since the Apex Genesis days, combining the roles of player and coach.
At The International 2025, the team finished in 11th place and earned $49,000 in prize money. In the Wildcard organization’s history, there is only one trophy - victory at DPC NA 2023 Tour 3: Division II. At the same time, the squad managed to qualify for DreamLeague Season 27 without losing a single map but failed in their attempt to reach FISSURE PLAYGROUND 2.
