Roster changes in Chinese teams: Tidebound and Vici Gaming issue statements

The esports organization Tidebound has officially announced the disbandment of its Dota 2 roster and the transition of the project to inactive status. The statement was published on the club’s official account on social network X.

Following a difficult decision, we announce that the Tidebound tag is officially ceasing active operations. The decision is based on the current roster situation and the long-term development prospects of Dota 2 in China. Despite the suspension of the project, we still value the scene and do not rule out a return in the future.

The Team Tidebound roster was formed in January 2025 and achieved notable results in less than a year on the professional scene. The team placed 7th–8th at The International 2025 and PGL Wallachia Season 3, finished fourth at PGL Wallachia Season 4, reached the top 6 at BLAST Slam III, and won the Clavision DOTA2 Masters 2025: Snow-Ruyi.

At their most recent tournament, DreamLeague Season 27, the team finished in 9th–16th place and failed to advance from the group stage, which may also have influenced the organization’s decision.

After the roster disbandment, three former Tidebound players will continue their careers with Vici Gaming. Guo shiro Xuanang, Zhang y Yiping, and Lin planet Hao joined the updated lineup. Players from the previous Vici roster in these positions have left the team: Lou lou Zhen, Xiong Pyw Jiahan, and Ding Dy Sun.

It is worth noting that Vici Gaming returned to the professional Dota 2 scene in October 2025 after a two-year break. The organization has been active in the discipline since 2012 and is considered one of the most well-known clubs in the Chinese scene. The team’s latest achievement was a 9th–11th place finish at FISSURE PLAYGROUND 2.
