PGL Wallachia Season 9 participants announced: only a few top teams will compete

Following the long-awaited reshuffles ahead of the new season, only a few top teams ended up among the participants of PGL Wallachia Season 9, while many top teams have yet to confirm their rosters. At the same time, not all participating teams have announced their final rosters, so some of them may compete at the tournament with stand-ins.

One of the main features of the tournament will be the participation of several teams that have rarely competed at this level before. In particular, Conventus Stellarum and Pibbles Corp will get a chance to prove themselves on the Tier 1 stage.

Four teams that recently competed at The International 2026 stand out among the participants. Team Yandex achieved the best result among them, finishing in 3rd place. Aurora Gaming and GamerLegion finished the biggest tournament of the year in 9th-13th place, while Xtreme Gaming placed 14th-15th.

PlayTime also attracts particular attention after becoming one of the first teams to confirm its participation. The organization recently assembled a new roster ahead of the new season and will now have a chance to test it against more experienced opponents.

The other participants include 1win Team, Hokori, LGD Gaming, MOUZ, Natus Vincere, Team Nemesis and Yakult Brothers.

Tournament format:

PGL Wallachia Season 9 is a Dota 2 LAN tournament that will take place from 18.09.2026 to 27.09.2026 in Bucharest, the capital of Romania. 16 teams will compete for a $1,000,000 prize pool.

The tournament will begin with a group stage played under the Swiss system. At the end of this stage, 8 teams will advance to the playoffs, while the remaining teams will be eliminated. All matches will be played in a Bo3 format, except for the Bo5 grand final. The playoffs will use a Double-elimination bracket.
