Tavern
The tavern and the phrase “to go back to the tavern” originated in the original DotA - a custom map for Warcraft 3. Back then, there was no user-friendly interface to choose from hundreds of heroes. Instead, all heroes were placed in taverns, sorted by attribute (Strength, Agility, Intelligence) and aligned with Radiant and Dire sides, which were then called The Sentinel and The Scourge.
In Dota 2, these taverns no longer exist, but they left such a strong impression on players that the expression is still widely used today.
