What is Lose?

Lose
"Loss" (from the English "lose") refers to a defeat in a match or game. In esports and competitive games, a loss means that a team or player has lost a round, map, or the entire match. The term is often used in contrast to a win.
The expression "lose streak" is also commonly used, meaning a series of consecutive losses. In Dota 2, as in other games, this can happen due to player mistakes, poor team coordination, unfair matchmaking, or simple randomness.
