Bio
Zhang y Yiping is a Chinese professional player who plays at the fifth position.
He started building his career in 2014 with Speed Gaming, and gained fame after winning The International 2016 with Wings Gaming. The great popularity of the team led to the fact that tag started to buy up rosters in other disciplines. However, nothing good came out of it: the Dota 2 roster stopped getting paid and at The Kiev Major 2017 performed under the name Team Random.
Around the same time, all TI6 champions were banned by the Chinese eSports federation, which also affected the EHOME roster, where y moved to. But fortunately, Valve enforced a relaxed punishment. The team then went on to win at The Bucharest Minor, take silver at the OGA Dota PIT Minor 2019, and finish third at The International 2019.
In 2020, PSG.LGD signed four EHOME players, including y, and Ame was the fifth. The team had a great showing at all major tournaments and also won at WePlay AniMajor. Thus, Zhang and his team went to The International 2021 and was considered the top favorite. PSG.LGD reached the grand finals on the upper bracket, where they met Team Spirit, who gave a decent fight to the Chinese team and took the main prize.
In 2022, y won the Riyadh Masters 2022, placed third at the PGL Arlington Major, and finished fifth at The International 2022. The following season was not the best, but not bad judging by the results. The team finished ninth at the Riyadh Masters 2023 and reached the top-3 at The International 2023.
2024 began with a failure to qualify for ESL One Birmingham, a seventh place finish at BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024, and a second place finish at Games of the Future. This was followed by failure at a few more qualifiers and LGD Gaming announced disbandment due to financial problems, but returned to the pro scene a couple months later. After returning, the roster qualified for the Riyadh Masters 2024, where they placed tenth, and also failed to qualify for The International 2024.
At Riyadh Masters 2024, LGD performed rather poorly, finishing in 10th place after losing to Team Spirit in the first round of the lower bracket playoffs. The next tournament for the team was Clavision Snow Ruyi Invitational, held in China. LGD successfully reached the semifinals of the upper bracket playoffs, but there they once again lost to Team Spirit and dropped to the lower bracket, where they were defeated by Natus Vincere and were eliminated from the tournament, finishing in 5th place.
January 2, 2025, y joined Tidebound. Under the new tag, the player debuted on PGL Wallachia: Season 3, where he took 7th-8th place.
On March 30, 2025, at FISSURE Universe Ep.4, Tidebound lost to Gaimin Gladiators in the lower bracket final, finishing in 3rd place. At ESL One Raleigh 2025 in April, the roster failed to advance beyond the group stage.
Later, at the end of April, the team competed at PGL Wallachia Season 4, where they lost in the quarterfinals of the lower bracket playoffs and left the tournament, finishing in 4th place.
In May, Tidebound participated in BLAST SLAM III, where they lost in the Playoff quarterfinals and exited the tournament in 5th–6th place.
- On May 14, 2025, the Chinese esports organization All Gamers Global fully acquired the TideBound Dota 2 roster.
In June 2025, Tidebound competed at PGL Wallachia Season 5 but failed to reach the playoffs. The team also failed to qualify for Riyadh Masters 2025, and after that, the team was removed from the Chinese esports organization All Gamers Global.
On July 3, 2025, Tidebound finished their run at FISSURE Universe: Episode 5 after losing in the lower bracket quarterfinal. In August 2025, Tidebound became the champions of Clavision DOTA2 Masters 2025: Snow-Ruyi, and the team also earned $213,500 in prize money.
In September, Tidebound participated in The International 2025 where they managed to reach the playoffs but lost in the lower bracket and exited the tournament, finishing in 7-8th place. On November 12, Tidebound became the champions of DreamLeague Division 2 Season 2, earning $15,000 in prize money and a slot at DreamLeague Season 27. At PGL Wallachia Season 6, the team finished in 12th-14th place.
On December 24, it became known that Tidebound announced the closure of its Dota 2 division and the disbandment of the roster. On the same day, y became part of Vici Gaming’s updated roster.
