Bio
Rolen Andre Skem Gabriel Ong is a professional Dota 2 player originally from the Philippines. He gained widespread fame playing in the 5th position for BOOM Esports, as well as the racist remarks that occurred during his time playing for compLexity Gaming.
The player began his professional journey back in 2016, trying out for teams such as: Acion Arena and Geek Fam, while also playing for Signify and a number of mixes. In September 2018, he became a compLexity Gaming player, but his journey across the ocean became fleeting. On November 1, 2018, at the Dreamleague Season 10 tournament before the start of a match between compLexity Gaming and Chinese team Royal Never Give Up skem wrote a short message in general chat "gl chingchong" and although "gl" is a common good luck wish, "chingchong" is a parody of a Chinese accent, which is somewhat considered racist. After the story was widely publicized, Andre immediately apologized, but the public's discontent only grew, with compLexity Gaming management stating that the player would be reprimanded and given the harshest possible punishment. Two weeks later, skem was transferred to compLexity Gaming reserves in order to find him a new team.
In January 2019, skem assembled his own team under the tag Lotac, but the lineup was unremarkable. Then Andre took Neon Esports under his banner. After winning a number of regional tournaments, the team finished 2nd place in the Dota Pro Circuit 2021: Season 1 - Southeast Asia Upper Division, which allowed them to qualify for the ONE Esports Singapore Major 2021. During the playoffs of the tournament, they defeated teams such as Fnatic and Vici Gaming, losing only to Team Secret, and made it to the top 6 of the Singapore Major. Having shown good results at the World Championship, skem was able to attract the attention of the big teams.
In September 2021, he joined BOOM Esports. The team immediately began to show results, winning regional tournaments, and rightfully became considered one of the strongest in the Southeast region. Andre, being the captain of BOOM Esports, led the team to victory at GAMERS GALAXY: Invitational Series Dubai 2022: being the underdog of the tournament skem and Co. managed to reach the final, where they beat one of the strongest teams in the world - Tundra Esports. Also, from 2022 to 2024, skem represented Geek Fam, with whom he unsuccessfully tried to qualify for The International 2023, ESL One Kuala Lumpur, and a few other major tournaments.
- May 13, 2024 - Shopify Rebellion signed skem.
With the new team, the player appeared at DreamLeague Season 23, where he took eleventh place, as well as at Elite League Season 2, where he finished seventh. In addition, Shopify Rebellion failed the qualifiers for the Riyadh Masters 2024 and The International 2024. And in August of the same year, the player created his own skem&friends stack to play at the qualifiers for PGL Wallachia Season 2. But after failing at the qualifiers, skem returned to Shopify and competed at ESL One Bangkok 2024, where he placed 8th.
The team started the 2025 season by finishing 15th at FISSURE PLAYGROUND and 9th at DreamLeague Season 25. At ESL One Raleigh 2025, the team failed to advance beyond the group stage, as well as at PGL Wallachia Season 4.
On May 17, the team secured a slot in the main tournament of FISSURE Universe: Episode 5 by defeating Virtus.pro in the upper bracket final of the FISSURE Universe: Episode 5 Play-In playoffs. At DreamLeague Season 26, the team finished in 9th place.
On June 7, 2025, the team qualified for Riyadh Masters 2025 through the closed qualifier. Later SR placed 5th-6th on FISSURE Universe: Episode 5.
In July 2025, Shopify Rebellion ended their participation in Riyadh Masters 2025, finishing in 15th place and earning $50,000 in prize money.
On July 30, 2025, the organization shut down its Dota 2 division and released the roster.
In 2025, the team Team Nemesis qualified for The International 2025 but lost all their matches and finished the tournament in 16th place.
On November 8, the organization OG officially signed the Team Aureus roster, including all players and the coach.
The first tournament for the updated team was PGL Wallachia Season 6, where the roster managed to secure 5–6th place.
At the beginning of December, OG competed in BLAST Slam V finishing 5–6th after reaching the tournament playoffs.
At the beginning of February 2026, the team competed at BLAST SLAM VI, where they took third place, losing to Team Liquid in the playoff stage.
