Mercurial
Mercurial is the name of Spectre in Dota 2. It comes from the hero’s full name in the classic version of the game — Mercurial, the Spectre. Although in Dota 2 the name was shortened to just Spectre, many players — especially older ones — still refer to her as “Mercurial.”
This nickname comes from the Warcraft 3 era and carries nostalgic weight for veterans familiar with the original Dota Allstars.
