Bio
Smiling Knight is a young player from Belarus, competing in Dota 2 as a carry. Over the course of his two-year career, he has managed to win the Vulkan Fight Series and secure the second place in Arena of Blood Season 2. From June to September 2020, Alexey played for Team Empire but later became a free agent.
Smiling Knight made his debut in the professional scene in 2018 when he played as a stand-in for The Brestomans in one of the sponsored tournaments. The team finished in sixth place but did not receive any prize money. His first permanent team was Real Noobs, with which he won the online qualifiers for the Russian eSports Cup 2018. After that, he and his teammates Petushara, HappyDyurara, Ergon, and pudge2002 joined Pavaga Junior. They secured the 10th to 17th place at the championship, which is considered a decent result for a tier 3-4 team. Additionally, the team finished second in the Red Square & 5 Element Dota 2 Open, earning around $400.
Following a decline in results, Smiling Knight left Pavaga Junior and started playing in various European stacks. He first played with Unchained Esports, alongside W1sh-, Kacor, and other players, attempting to qualify for MDL Disneyland Paris Major but without success. He then joined Family Team and participated in Home Camp, but once again, they couldn't secure a victory. Only after the team lost its sponsor and changed its name to Yolo Knight did they manage to claim the third place in WePlay! Pushka League Season 1: Division 2, earning $750.
Smiling Knight later joined Team Empire. In this team, he won the Vulkan Fight Series and the BEYOND EPIC qualifiers for Europe and CIS. They finished 11th-12th in the final standings of OMEGA League: Europe Divine Division and secured the second place in Arena of Blood Season 2. Overall, the team earned almost $15,000, including partner tournaments. In September 2020, Alexey temporarily became a substitute player for Team Empire, with which he took 7-8 at ESL One Fall 2021 and 4th at Dota 2 Champions League Season 3.
In 2022, Alexey managed to play for the teams One Move and Gambit Esports. With these teams, the player three times took 2nd place in Dota 2 Champions League tournaments, and also took part in the qualification for The International 2022, where he took 4th place and did not make it to the main part of the tournament. In November Smiling Knight joined the Peruvian team Thunder Awaken. In the new team, the player became a three-time champion of the 1XPLORE LATAM tournament, and also, for the first time in his career, managed to qualify for The International 2023, although he took 17th-20th place in the main part of the tournament, failing to advance past the group stage.
In early 2024, Alexey joins the new Team wkwkwk pack to qualify for DreamLeague Season 22 and BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024. On qualifying for the DreamLeague online tournament series, wkwkwk managed to make it to the closed qualifiers stage in the Western Europe region. But at the closed qualification for the Dacha, where the squad received a direct invite, the team had no success, falling out of the qualifiers in the second round of the lower playoff bracket.
- March 6, 2024 - Knight joined Vrooomy.io.
With the new team, the player tried to qualify for many major tournaments this year, but it didn't work out. In addition, the guy has played in EPL tournaments, and also placed fourth at Winline Insight Season 5.
June 21, 2024 - Knight moved to AVULUS.
The guy joined the new tag Team Tea, which soon changed its name. The team showed great results in smaller tournaments. Knight managed to win the following championships: CCT Dota 2 Series 1, CyberScore.live Cup, RES Regional Series: EU #3, European Pro League 19: Division 1 and CCT Dota 2 Series 3. He also never gave up trying to make his way to the big stage and soon he succeeded, AVULUS earned a spot at PGL Wallachia Season 2, where eventually took 8-th place, and later competed at DreamLeague Season 24, finishing 11th. At ESL One Bangkok 2024, the team was able to enter the top 5.
The 2025 team started with an 11th place finish at the FISSURE PLAYGROUND and 16th at DreamLeague Season 25. After that, the team traveled to Bucharest for PGL Wallachia: Season 3, where they finished 16th overall. In April, the team competed at ESL One Raleigh 2025 but was eliminated in the first playoff match. At PGL Wallachia Season 4 AVULUS came in last place.
On April 18, 2025, Avulus defeated Virtus.pro in the lower bracket final of FISSURE Universe: Episode 5 Play-In, securing a slot in FISSURE Universe: Episode 5. At DreamLeague Season 26, the roster finished in 14th place. At PGL Wallachia Season 5 the team was also one of the first teams to be eliminated.
In early July, the team participated in FISSURE Universe: Episode 5, where they performed poorly and failed to reach the playoff stage. Earlier this month, AVULUS qualified for FISSURE Universe: Episode 6 by successfully defeating 1WIN Team in the Play-In stage.
In October, AVULUS participated in FISSURE Universe: Episode 7, where they lost in the first round of the playoffs and left the tournament. On November 11, AVULUS disbanded its roster. However, in early January 2026, Smiling Knight rejoined the roster, but left the team again at the end of the month.
