Team Empire is a Russian esports organization founded in 2004. The Dota 2 roster was opened at the end of 2011, when the club announced the transition of its squad from Heroes of Newerth to the new game.

2011-2013

The early years of the division were marked by constant experimentation: the team saw s4, ALWAYSWANNAFLY, and j4 among its players. The first notable success came with 2nd place at the StarLadder StarSeries Season 3 in 2012.

By the end of 2013, one of the most recognizable lineups in the organization's history had taken shape, featuring Roman Resolut1on Fominok, Andrey ALWAYSWANNAFLY Bondarenko, Andrey Mag Chupenko, Ivan VANSKOR Skorokhod, and Ayrat Silent Gaziev. The refreshed roster's first major trophy was gold at the Electronic Sports World Cup 2013.

2014

Throughout 2014, the squad dominated the regional scene, taking first places at the Dota 2 Champions League Season 3 and the Excellent Moscow Cup.

However, at the year's flagship event, The International 2014, the team flopped, finishing only 13th-14th. The disappointing result forced inevitable changes: VANSKOR and Mag left the club and were replaced by Maksim yoky- Kim and Ilya ALOHADANCE Korobkin.

2015

The refreshed squad ran one of the best seasons in the organization's history, taking first places at StarLadder StarSeries Season 11, Dota 2 Champions League Season 5, and joinDOTA MLG Pro League Season 1, heading into The International 2015 as a dark horse.

Nonetheless, on stage the team cracked under pressure and stopped at 9th-12th. This led to the final breakup of the "golden" roster, as key players left.

2016

Attempts to assemble a star roster around Aleksandr XBOCT Dashkevich and Gleb Funn1k Lipatnikov brought only the Game Show Global eSports Cup Season 1 title, after which results declined.

The club changed direction and signed young players, including Roman RAMZES666 Kushnarev and Yaroslav Miposhka Naydenov.

The squad reached the top-4 at ESL One Manila 2016 but failed to qualify for The International 2016, triggering yet another wave of changes.

2017

By summer the organization had built a roster with Rostyslav fn Lozovoi, Volodymyr Chappie Kuzmenko, Andrii Ghostik Kadyk, Volodymyr RodjER Nikogosian, and Miposhka, who managed to qualify for the year's main event.

Right before The International 2017, Chappie could not fly to the United States due to visa issues. Resolut1on, who had originally arrived at the TI as an analyst, was called up as an emergency replacement.

He helped the team pull off an upset run: Team Empire reached the 7th-8th round, where they lost to Team Liquid, who would go on to win the title. After that triumph the roster was immediately picked apart by other top organizations.

2018-2022

For the next several years the club regularly changed players and competed only at the tier-2/3 level. Over three years the organization failed to qualify for any Major or TI.

In 2021 a youth roster built from scratch, led by Gleb depressed kid Zyryanov and Aleksei Smiling Knight Sviridov, surprisingly reached the grand final of the closed qualifiers for The International 10. One step away from a slot, the team lost in a tight series to the future world champions Team Spirit, 2-3.

That blow marked the beginning of the end: in the next 2022 DPC season the renewed roster collapsed completely, dropping to Division II. After that the roster was disbanded and the organization wound down its Dota 2 operations for good.
