Team Liquid and BetBoom Team barely qualified for DreamLeague Season 29 — results of the European qualifiers
The closed qualifiers for Western and Eastern Europe for DreamLeague Season 29 have come to an end. In total, teams competed for 4 spots in the main event, and it’s time to summarize the results.
Western Europe
In the Western European qualifiers, Natus Vincere secured the first slot by defeating Team Liquid, which competed in the qualifiers with a substitute. It’s worth noting that Liquid hasn’t quite gelled yet with Marcel Ekki Holovienko, whereas NAVI quickly got on well with Tamir Daze Tokpanov, since they had played with him before. Team Liquid still managed to clinch a spot in DreamLeague via the lower bracket, where they defeated MOUZ. Remco Crystallis Arets’s team, in turn, also performed at the qualifiers with stand-ins and ended up in the lower bracket after losing to Virtus.pro. Liquid, unlike VP, gave Crystallis its best heroes, but even that didn't help MOUZ.
Eastern Europe
Only one slot was up for grabs in the Eastern European region. Given the lineup of participants, the qualifiers were expected to be a piece of cake for BetBoom Team, but already in the first round, BB found itself in the lower bracket after losing to Mikhail DarkLord^ Blinov’s squad, Breeki Cheeki. BetBoom Team won the first three series in the lower bracket without any trouble, but in the final matches, they lost by a single map to Nemiga Gaming and L1GA TEAM. Nevertheless, the qualifiers' favorite still secured the region's sole slot. It seems Tidehunter was L1GA's best pick; after banning him, BB won all three maps.
It is noteworthy that Team Falcons did not participate in the qualifiers for DreamLeague Season 29, even though they currently lack the EPT points needed to qualify for the tournament via direct invitation. According to rumors, Team Yandex will withdraw from the championship, as they plan to replace Evgeny Noticed Ignatenko with Dmitry DM Dorokhin. It is not yet clear how the roster update relates to the withdrawal from the competition (unless TY replaces three players at once, which would lead to the cancellation of EPT points), but it is precisely their slot that Falcons could take.
The closed qualifiers for DreamLeague Season 29 takes place from 12.04.2026 to 15.04.2026. The main stage of the tournament will take place from 13.05.2026 to 24.05.2026 in an online format, with 16 teams competing for a prize pool of $1,000,000.
