Bio
Andriy Mag Chipenko is a Ukrainian veteran of the professional Dota 2 scene. Initially competed in the DotA discipline, playing for the famous teams Natus Vincere and DTS Gaming. Since 2018 he has been fulfilling the position of a coach.
Mag's games on the professional Dota 2 scene began with DTS Gaming, which broke up by May 2012. Mag quickly found a new place in Darer among Goblak, Funn1k, and ArtStyle. The renewed team managed to win bronze at GosuLeague Season 2, and a month later also silver at GosuLeague Season 3. It was in this team in 2012 that Mag first played at The International, where Darer lost to Team DK, ending up in 9-12th place.
In 2013 Andrei got into iCCup, where he played the role of a hardlaner. Mag showed a good game at Techlabs Cup 2013 Season 1 and StarLadder StarSeries Season 6, where he took 2nd place in iCCup.
Perhaps, the most successful in Mag's career was assembled in Team Empire. There Andrei also took the post of captain after the departure of LighTofHeaveN. The team won the Electronic Sports World Cup 2013 and Excellent Moscow Cup in just six months. Despite the successful performances, at the end of October yoky- replaced Mag, and the latter went to look for his further place of refuge.
Before joining Vega Squadron, Mag played for ASUS Polar and Virtus.Pro Polar for several months. Mag played in Vega Squadron for two years, and his roommates were No[o]ne and Solo. The team earned gold at ESL One New York 2015 and took 2nd place at WePlay Dota 2 League Season 3, but failed at the upcoming Major tournaments.
Mag spent most of the following season in constant wandering between teams. He went to Effect, Mineski, and Double Dimension, and finished his career with MEGA-LADA.
In early 2018, Mag was offered a coaching position at Natus Vincere. He did not refuse and eventually helped his charges reach 2nd place at MegaFon Winter Clash and Dreamleague Season 10. In 2019, the team played at tournaments of various scales, and the best results were shown at ESL One Mumbai 2019, WePlay! Reshuffle Madness 2019 and ONE Esports Dota 2 World Pro Invitational Singapore. At The International 2019, Natus Vincere lost to Mineski and finished in 13th-16th place.
Andrij coached NaVi until 2021, after which he joined Winstrike Team in the same role, but the team could not achieve much results under his leadership. The following year Mag started coaching BetBoom Team, where one of the most important achievements was the team's appearance at The International 2022, but BB Team left the tournament in last place.
- On May 1, 2023, B8 signed Mag as a coach.
Under the guidance of the new coach, the Ukrainian team tried to qualify for The International 2023, as well as ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023, but the attempts were unsuccessful. A little later the team managed to win the European Pro League 14, and even later took second place at one of the Ukrainian events.
In 2024, B8 took part in the qualifiers for such tournaments as DreamLeague Season 22, ESL One Birmingham, Elite League 2024, DreamLeague Season 23 and Elite League Season 2, but could not get into the main part of any tournament. In May of the same year, the roaster took part in the qualifiers for the Riyadh Masters 2024, and in June for The International 2024, but could not get further than the open stage.
- On June 10, 2024 Mag left B8.
In October Mag joined AVULUS as a coach. Under his leadership, the team played at PGL Wallachia Season 2 and DreamLeague Season 24, but both tournaments failed to achieve much. At ESL One Bangkok 2024, the team was able to enter the top 5.
The 2025 team started with an 11th place finish at the FISSURE PLAYGROUND and 16th at DreamLeague Season 25. After that, the team traveled to Bucharest for PGL Wallachia: Season 3, where they finished 16th. On March 21, Stormstormer and Ekki left AVULUS. They were replaced by Fabian Mo13ei Knehr and Sakis dEsire Kartsampas. The renewed roster qualified for DreamLeague Season 26. In April, the team competed at ESL One Raleigh 2025 but was eliminated in the first playoff match. At PGL Wallachia Season 4 AVULUS came in last place.
On April 18, 2025, Avulus defeated Virtus.pro in the lower bracket final of FISSURE Universe: Episode 5 Play-In, securing a slot in FISSURE Universe: Episode 5. At DreamLeague Season 26, the roster finished in 14th place. At PGL Wallachia Season 5 the team was also one of the first teams to be eliminated.
In early July, the team participated in FISSURE Universe: Episode 5, where they performed poorly and failed to reach the playoff stage.
