TORONTOTOKYO explained why he left OG
Former OG offlaner Alexander TORONTOTOKYO Khertek said during a Twitch livestream that he had left the team because his vision for the game didn’t align with the rest of the squad.
“The thing is, we just don’t connect. I have my own gameplay style, they have theirs — fine, let’s say that. But I can’t, and I don’t want to play their way, and they don’t want to play mine.
I tried to play a different kind of Dota than what they’d been playing before. Tried to explain some things to them and so on. Well, I don’t know, honestly, we didn’t have any bootcamps or anything. I wouldn’t say we were really trying anything there — to put it bluntly, our official matches were just our practice games.”
Caster Avery SVG Silverman also commented on TORONTOTOKYO’s departure from OG. Even before the player joined the club, Silverman predicted that he wouldn’t fit in with the Southeast Asian team in terms of mentality and culture. He believes that Khertek is a unique player who will shine in the right team.
“It wasn’t the right team; it was a terrible move. This isn’t a case where OG picked a bad player; it’s a situation where no one benefited from the transfer. I just can’t imagine them ever matching.
When OG discussed why the roster with TORONTOTOKYO didn’t work out, it all came down to the question of who adapts to whom. He’s not the kind of guy who’s going to adapt. He’ll play the way he sees fit; the team needs to be built around him.”
In addition, Silverman noted that organizations must maintain a balance among players when forming an international roster.
“I think if people want international rosters to work, you can’t put together a roster with a 4:1 ratio. It should be something like 2:3 or 3:3 with the coach—that’s the ideal scenario. Because then no one will be isolated or feel pressured.”
As a reminder, TORONTOTOKYO in the OG roster was replaced by Mark Polo Raven Luis Fausto. The updated roster will make its debut at the closed qualifiers for Southeast Asia for The International 2026, which will take place from 19.06.2026 to 23.06.2026. The teams will compete for a single slot in the championship.
As CyberScore previously reported, Nigma Galaxy replaced their carry and mid laner ahead of the qualifiers for The International 2026.
