SumaiL will continue his career with LGD Gaming: organization unveils new roster

Midlaner Sumail SumaiL Hassan will continue his professional career with LGD Gaming, despite his recent comments about possibly retiring. The organization completely rebuilt its Dota 2 roster ahead of PGL Wallachia Season 9, keeping only one player from the lineup that competed at The International 2026.

SumaiL last played for Nigma Galaxy, with which he finished 5th-6th at TI15. The midlaner left the team after the tournament and will continue his career with LGD Gaming in the new season.

Only Thiago Thiolicor de Oliveira Cordeiro kept his place from the previous roster, while Maximo Wits Orozco, who previously represented PlayTime, took the carry position. The Peruvian competed with the team at several major tournaments this year, including Esports World Cup 2026 and DreamLeague Season 29.

Cedric Davai Deckmyn also moved from Nigma alongside SumaiL. Before that, the Belgian offlaner spent a long period with HEROIC, where he won PGL Wallachia Season 2 and FISSURE Universe: Episode 7.

Shortly before the move, Deckmyn apologized to Chinese fans for his former nickname Davai Lama and shortened it to Davai. The player explained that he chose the name as a teenager and did not understand the political context associated with it at the time.

The final player to complete the lineup was two-time The International champion Jingjun Sneyking Wu. In 2022, the American support won the title with Tundra Esports, and three years later repeated the achievement with Team Falcons.

During almost three years with Falcons, he also won several major tournaments, including ESL One Birmingham 2024, DreamLeague Season 23 and 24. After TI15, the organization disbanded its roster, and the players became free agents.

The new lineup will be coached by American coach Kanishka BuLba Sosale, known for his long-term work with Evil Geniuses and Shopify Rebellion. Under his leadership, EG became champion of The International 2015 and finished 3rd at The International 2018 three years later.

The first tournament for the new roster will be PGL Wallachia Season 9, which will take place from 19.09.2026 to 27.09.2026 in Bucharest. The event will feature 16 teams competing for a $1,000,000 prize pool. You can find the list of participants in our coverage.
