"I had to choose between Tundra or Liquid" — TOfu explains why he decided to join Liquid

Team Liquid support player Eric tOfu Engel revealed that he had to choose between Tundra Esports and Team Liquid, but the decisive factor was the chance to continue playing alongside offlaner Marcus Ace Holgard.

I had to choose between Tundra and Liquid. I talked to both teams, and the discussions went well. Half a year ago, Liquid was already interested in me, but I couldn’t leave Gaimin Gladiators at that time. When the opportunity appeared, I knew I wanted to play with them.

tOfu added that Tundra Esports showed interest after Martin Saksa Sazdov stepped back from competition, but the Liquid offer turned out to be more appealing.

At first, I leaned towards Tundra - their situation seemed more stable, and Liquid still had role questions. But then I found out they needed to fill two positions, and I could bring Ace with me. That became the deciding factor and I wanted to keep playing with him. We’ve been together for a long time, we trust each other, and see the game the same way.

Earlier, Roman RAMZES666 Kushnarev revealed some details about the reshuffle in Tundra Esports, confirming that tOfu was indeed considered as a potential addition to the team.

Engel and Holgard have been playing together since 2021, previously representing Hellbear Smashers and Gaimin Gladiators. With the latter, they qualified for The International 2025 but didn’t compete due to a conflict with the organization. After the roster disbanded, both players joined Team Liquid, replacing Aydin iNSaNiA Sarkohi and Jonáš SabeRLighT- Volek.

Currently, tOfu and Team Liquid continue competing at FISSURE PLAYGROUND 2. Tomorrow, the team will play a decisive match for a spot in the playoffs. They currently hold a 2–2 record in the group stage, and one more loss could cost them elimination.
