Team Yandex became champions of DreamLeague Season 27

In the grand final of DreamLeague Season 27, Team Spirit and Team Yandex faced each other once again. The teams had previously met in the upper bracket final, where Yandex secured a 2:0 victory. In the final match, Yandex repeated its success: Spirit was not ready and failed to fight back. The match ended with a score of 3:1, and Team Yandex became the champions of the tournament.

The first map was closely contested, but an outstanding performance by carry Ilya Yatoro Mulyarchuk on Phantom Assassin helped his team take the lead in the series. Notably, this marked Yatoro’s first win on the hero in nine months, as he finished the map with 16 kills, 9 assists, and just 1 death. The highlight of the first game was Ravage's four heroes from Magomed Collapse Khalilov on Tidehunter in combination with Cataclysm from Denis Larl Sigitov on Invoker.

On the second map, Team Yandex regrouped and controlled the game, evening the series score. Moreover, on the third map, Yandex outdrafted their opponents and moved ahead, leaving them just one map away from the championship.

The final game of the series was once again controlled by Yandex, leaving the “dragons” with no real chance to turn the tide. Special mention goes to carry Alimzhan Watson Islambekov, who died only six times throughout the entire series. For him, this triumph was his first victory in a Tier 1 championship, as it was for the rest of his teammates, except for Martin Saksa Sazdov.

It should be noted that Team Yandex had also achieved unexpectedly high results in previous tournaments. At FISSURE PLAYGROUND 2, the team placed third after losing to Team Falcons. At BLAST Slam V, they reached the grand final but fell short against Tundra, finishing second. The victory at DreamLeague Season 27 became a logical continuation of this run.
