Team Spirit esports club has officially announced the departure of the mid-laner Alexander ‘TORONTOTOKYO‘ Khertek. Information about this appeared on the website of the organization.

The leadership of The International 2021 champions has decided that the time has come for TORONTOTOKYO and the team to move in different directions.

«After analyzing all the pros and cons, the management of the organization decided to part ways with Alexander ‘TORONTOTOKYO’ Khertek. After 2 years in Team Spirit, Sasha has grown from a talented player who loves Dota 2 into a professional who has proven himself at the highest level. His nickname will forever remain in the history of our organization, however, it is time to say goodbye and move on. We believe that our decision will turn out to be the right one and will benefit both Team Spirit and TORONTOTOKYO,» the organization said in a statement.

The Russian esportsman has been playing for Team Spirit since December 2020, when the club officially announced the signing of the Yellow Submarine roster. With the team, he became the champion of The International 10 (2021) and PGL Arlington Major 2022, and also reached the finals of the OGA Dota PIT Invitational, OGA Dota PIT EU/CIS Season 5 and Gamers8 Riyadh Masters. The team failed to deliver at The International 2022, finishing in the 13th-16th place.

It is not yet known who will replace TORONTOTOKYO in the roster. According to rumors, Denis ‘larl‘ Sigitov may take over his role.

As CyberScore reported, Virtus.pro has unveiled a completely new roster for the new Dota Pro Circuit season.
