SUNSfan: “I think the patch will have a second part”
American caster Shannon SUNSfan Scotten shared his opinion on patch 7.40. In his view, Valve did not have time to implement all the planned changes and will add them in the next update.
"They basically just removed some things. You could easily call this half of a big patch. I was thinking to myself last night, because my initial reaction while reading it was disappointment. I thought, is it better to have half a patch now, or a full patch later? And I honestly couldn’t decide.
But now they removed facets and didn’t replace them with new ones. It looks like they had a deadline. I think they were rushing and therefore postponed some things for later. I think the patch will have a second part.”

Artur Arteezy Babaev also commented on the new patch. The esports player believes that the developers have the wrong idea about which heroes need to be buffed or nerfed and suggested hiring competent testers.
"Terrorblade is down 25% damage, Phantom Lancer is dead, Clinkz is dead, Lone Druid is dead, Spectre is dead, but Timbersaw is still strong — first pick in all pubs and competitive games.
Valve needs to outsource carry beta testing, because the developers clearly don’t understand anything."
Patch 7.40 was released on December 16. In it, the developers made changes to the balance of heroes and items, the terrain, Captains Mode, and other aspects of the game, as well as adding a new character, Largo.
As CyberScore reported earlier, Largo has been played in over a million matches.
