StingeR banned by Valve during the DreamLeague Season 22 qualifying match
Valve has started blocking smurf accounts of professional Dota 2 players which led to an odd situation in the DreamLeague Season 22 qualifying match. Mad Kings' player Steven StingeR Vargas got banned during the game and his team suffered a defeat on the second map against Thunder Awaken and got eliminated from the closed qualifiers in South America.
"Stinger's account just got locked and they won't let him connect again. A message pops up saying he was banned for account sharing or something like that. Banned permanently!".
It is also reported that smurf-accounts of Egor Nightfall Grigorenko, Alimzhan watson Islambekov, Artem yuragi Golubev, Dmitry DM Dorokhin, Dmitry Fishman Polischuk and other players have been banned. For example, watson lost an account with 12500 MMR.
"Goodbye my 12500 smurf."
Whether StingeR will be able to continue his career as a professional player is still unknown. His main account, from which he participated in all tournaments, was banned.
As Cyberscore previously reported, in September 2023 Valve banned more than 90 thousand smurf-accounts.
