Riyadh Masters 2023 start postponed by 2 days
The organizers of the Gamers8 festival have postponed the start of the Play-in stage of the Riyadh Masters 2023 by 2 days. The reasons for this decision have not been announced yet.
The Play-in stage at Riyadh Masters 2023 will be held on July 19, not on the 17th as it was announced earlier. Thus, this stage will be held in 1-2 days instead of 3-4 days.
The format of the Play-in at the Riyadh Masters 2023 is as follows:
- Two groups of 6 teams each
- 1-2 place goes straight into the group stage
- Teams that finish 3rd to 6th place will play clubs from the other group.
- Teams will finish only after failing to qualify from the opposite group.
- Top-3 of Group A vs. Top-6 of Group B
- Top-4 of Group A vs. Top-5 of Group B
- Top-5 of Group A vs. Top-4 of Group B
- Top-6 of Group A vs. top-3 of Group B
Thus, the group stage of Riyadh Masters 2023 will feature 8 teams with invites, 4 winners of draw matches and the top 1-2 of each group of the Play-in stage.
Riyadh Masters 2023 will be held from July 19 to July 30 in Saudi Arabia with a prize pool of $15 million. At the moment the list of participants in the group stage is known, the final list of teams in the Play-in has not been announced, but the invites will be based on the rankings from ESL.
