OVERPLUS developers threaten Valve in response to mass account bans in Dota 2

On the night of February 8th to 9th, Valve carried out the largest wave of account bans. The focus was on accounts of players using the OVERPLUS skin changer. In response, the creators of the extension essentially declared war on Dota 2 developers, promising to "take certain actions against the game."

"If Valve has made such a decision regarding our project, then we will also take certain actions against their game. Our team has enough experience to implement many things that we considered illogical and inhumane towards developers," the company statement said.

According to representatives of OVERPLUS, they have the ability to hide smurf accounts from monitoring systems and make skins visible to everyone.

"In general, we understand how Dota works and its algorithms. The most basic thing that can be useful to all players starting from scratch is that we can make skins visible to everyone. We can completely hide all players from Steam and smurf detection systems so you can play on multiple accounts and have fun with friends," the developers wrote, adding that the mass account bans were a "stab in the back" for them.

Recall that 1/4 profiles of active Dota 2 players received VAC bans, totaling more than 300 thousand accounts.

This affected some well-known players and streamers, such as mag, rinlar, kusaka6e, akuma, zitrax, raze, iseedeadpeople, Bogus, and sanekingg.

As reported by Cyberscore earlier, Valve banned ʚKKɞ, the top-1 player in the Chinese ladder.
