Malr1ne explained how tournament prize money is distributed
Former Team Falcons mid laner Stanislav Malr1ne Potorak explained during a live stream on Twitch what percentage organizations take from Dota 2 prize money.
Malr1ne stated that he couldn’t disclose all the details, but noted that the percentage allocated to players depends on the club. Prize money is often split between the roster members and the organization based on an agreement between the team’s representatives and the esports players.

Potorak is also aware of cases where an organization did not share prize money with the roster members at all, but compensated for this with high salaries. According to him, this practice is less common now.
As a reminder, tournament operators ESL and BLAST have recently begun independently dividing the prize pool between players and the club, typically in a 70% to 30% ratio.
A rough estimate of players’ prize money is usually calculated by dividing the amount the team earned at the tournament by 6 or 7. However, salaries and other revenue-generating contracts are generally not included in calculations of esports players’ income. In addition, prize money from championships is subject to taxation in the country where it was earned, and the tax rate can reach 30% or even 50%.
As CyberScore previously reported, Malr1ne will return to the pro scene at PARI Universe.
