Only 9% of Dota 2 accounts have a rank: calibration statistics revealed
According to statistics published by Stratz, only around 8.3 million out of more than 95 million Dota 2 accounts have an assigned rank. This means that less than 9% of all profiles have completed ranked calibration.
Most of these accounts are concentrated in the middle ranks. According to the distribution, their number gradually increases from Herald to Crusader and Archon before starting to decline as the ranks get higher.
Immortal stands out in particular, with 358,545 accounts reaching the rank. The highest medal used to be one of the rarest, but the number of Immortal accounts began to grow noticeably after the introduction of recalibration and Double Down Tokens. These mechanics made it easier to gain MMR quickly, including through account boosting.

At the same time, the total number of accounts should not be equated with the number of active Dota 2 players. The statistics may include multiple profiles belonging to the same user, as well as accounts whose owners no longer play the game.
In addition, some active players prefer unranked modes, including Turbo and custom games. However, the latter are currently unavailable due to server issues.
It is worth noting that Valve also partially revised Dota 2's ranking system at the end of July. The developers adjusted the MMR of Immortal players, placing their ratings within a range of 1 to 9500 MMR while preserving their positions relative to each other on the leaderboard.
Before the changes, the strongest players had already reached 18,000 MMR. Several months later, professional players began surpassing the 10,000 MMR mark again. Support player Edgar 9Class Naltakyan and carry Egor Nightfall Grigorenko were among the first to achieve it.
Earlier, Cyberscore reported that a new Immortal treasure, Trove of Terror, featuring two Arcanas was released in Dota 2.
