Esports Charts reveals august tournament rankings: The International 2026 among the best
According to Esports Charts, the grand final of The International 2026 between Team Spirit and Team Vision was watched by nearly 1.8 million concurrent viewers. By this metric, the tournament was surpassed only by MLBB Mid Season Cup 2026 in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. Notably, Spirit won both tournaments.
TI15 also recorded one of the best results in the history of the series. Only The International 2021 with 2.74 million peak viewers and The International 2019 with 1.97 million attracted larger concurrent audiences.
The tournament also slightly surpassed last year's championship. The International 2025 reached 1.785 million peak viewers. As a result, the latest edition recorded the third-highest peak viewership in The International history.
The gap was significantly larger compared with other major Dota 2 tournaments in 2026. Before TI, Esports World Cup 2026 had recorded the highest peak viewership among Dota tournaments this year, with nearly 327,000 viewers.
Other major events also posted strong numbers. ESL One Birmingham 2026 attracted more than 300,000 peak viewers, DreamLeague Season 29 nearly 285,000, and BLAST Slam VII more than 271,000.
It should be noted that Esports Charts statistics do not include data from Chinese streaming platforms.
The next tier-1 tournament after TI15 will be PGL Wallachia Season 9, which will take place in Bucharest from 17.09.2026 to 27.09.2026. The tournament is expected to feature 16 teams competing for $1,000,000.
