The International 2027: what is known about the venue

Valve has not yet announced the dates or location for The International 2027, but several possible venues are already being discussed.

According to rumors and speculation from members of the professional scene, The International could return to Singapore, take place in Kazakhstan for the first time, or return to Seattle. However, none of these locations have been officially confirmed yet.

Singapore

So far, the most concrete information has emerged about a possible return of TI to Singapore. In August, sources familiar with the situation reported that the city could host the tournament in 2027.

The rumor was later commented on by Team Spirit manager Dmitry Korb3n Belov. According to him, during The International 2026, he tried to find out from the organizers where the next championship would be held but was unable to get this information. Belov also noted that he had heard about this possibility and believes it could be true.

Former professional player Roman RAMZES666 Kushnarev also shared similar information. During a livestream, he said that, according to the information available to him, the next The International should take place there.

Singapore previously hosted Dota 2's biggest tournament in 2022. That year, the championship was held in Southeast Asia for the first time in history, with the final-stage matches taking place at Singapore Indoor Stadium. Tundra Esports became the champion after defeating Team Secret 3:0 in the grand final to claim the Aegis of Champions for the first time.

Kazakhstan

Another possible option is Kazakhstan. Unlike Singapore, there have been no insider reports about The International 2027 potentially being held in the country, but several members of the professional scene have already supported the idea.

After the 2026 championship ended, 1win Team manager Aldar Jamba Dzhambinov publicly suggested that Valve hold the next tournament in Astana or Almaty.

Korb3n also mentioned Kazakhstan, admitting that he would like to see the biggest tournament of the year held there, although he believes the rumors about Singapore seem more credible. He also pointed out that PGL, which has been involved in organizing TI in recent years, already has experience hosting major esports events in the country.

Kazakhstan has indeed been hosting more international tournaments in recent years. In 2025 and 2026, Astana hosted PGL Counter-Strike 2 championships twice.

Seattle

Fans are also discussing a possible return of the biggest tournament of the year to Seattle. However, unlike the other options, members of the professional scene and insiders have not yet reported any similar plans from Valve.

The city holds a special place in the history of the championship. The International was held there for six consecutive years, from 2012 to 2017, before returning in 2023.

This period was closely linked to the rapid growth of Dota 2's biggest tournament. In 2014, it moved to KeyArena, where it was held through 2017. After reconstruction, the venue was renamed Climate Pledge Arena and hosted the final stage of the championship again six years later.

The most recent The International in Seattle, held in 2023, ended with Team Spirit claiming the title. In the grand final, the team defeated Gaimin Gladiators 3:0 to become world champions for the second time.

Three years later, Team Spirit lifted the Aegis of Champions once again, this time in Shanghai. The International 2026 took place from 13.08.2026 to 23.08.2026 and featured 16 teams competing for $3,906,263. In the grand final, Team Spirit defeated TEAM VISION 3:2 and became the first organization in Dota 2 history to win The International three times.
