Dyrachyo on being kicked from Gaimin Gladiators: "It gave me the opportunity to look at everything differently"
Russian esports player Anton dyrachyo Shkredov talked about his kick from Gaimin Gladiators, his break from Dota 2, and the new chapter of his career with Tundra Esports. He shared his thoughts in an interview with Cybersport.ru.
Anton mentioned that being kicked from Gaimin Gladiators came as a surprise, especially after the success they achieved together. Moreover, according to him, everything unfolded in a rather strange way.
Just some of the guys called me for a chat and said: "Here's the deal." I said, "No problem." I asked about the contract since it was signed for two years. They told me: "Yeah, you're free, you can look for a team." And then it turned out I wasn't entirely free; everything unfolded in a very strange way
Despite the unpleasant circumstances within the team, dyrachyo tries not to hold grudges and looks forward to the future.
I’ll say this, there were conflicts: I didn’t like some things, they didn’t like others. We tried to work on it. There was always something wrong. Over the course of the year, all those losses, or rather not-quite-victories, probably built up fatigue. Honestly, I don’t regret it. There’s no negativity, no anger or anything like that. I’m probably even glad. It gave me the opportunity to look at everything differently, and that’s it
After leaving Gaimin Gladiators, Anton decided to take a break from professional play. He spoke about his long vacation and shared that he would gladly take up streaming.
I got invites, but since there was very little time, after a couple of days of thinking, I realized I didn’t feel like rushing. I didn’t want to make hasty decisions. I decided: if someone invites me after my break, great. If not, honestly, I’ve got things to do. Even now, after playing Dota again post-break, I realize streaming might even be more fun than playing. Honestly, I could take more time off
In addition, Shkredov revealed that he had planned to form his own team with Danil gpk Skutin, but an offer from Tundra Esports changed those plans.
The guys messaged me, and I told them, "Hold on." Things didn’t work out with my own team, so I agreed, and here I am now. I think it would’ve been cool to create my own team. It’s a new experience. Initially, I wanted to build a roster with gpK~, and the rest didn’t matter much. But I understood that Gleb might not perform well, people might be unhappy with him, Danya might get an invite, and... I told him, "Danya, if they call you, just say so right away," and that’s it
