Rumor: Battle Pass might release this month
The Dota 2 community is actively discussing a potential return of the Battle Pass. According to rumors, it might be released as early as May, which aligns with its usual release window. For many years, the BP provided fans with unique rewards and interactivity — and helped fund record-breaking prize pools for The International.
Although Valve has only released compendiums without cosmetic rewards in the last two seasons, Team Spirit manager Dmitry Korb3n Belov said the company has not yet requested club bundle content from teams, which usually happens before a compendium launch.
This has given fans hope for a return to the old format. However, Valve has made no official announcements — all assumptions are based on developer activity on test servers and the players' own expectations.

Release dates of Battle Passes and compendiums over the past 10 years:
- The International Compendium 2015 — May 1
- Battle Pass 2016 — May 16
- Battle Pass 2017 — May 4
- Battle Pass 2018 — May 8
- Battle Pass 2019 — May 7
- Battle Pass 2020 — May 25
- Battle Pass 2022 — September 1
- International 2023 Compendium — September 28
- The International 2024 Compendium — August 22
If the Battle Pass does come back, it may be released in late May or early June — about three months before The International 2025, scheduled for September 4.
Earlier, CyberScore.live reported that Sikle suggested Valve might bring the Battle Pass back to Dota 2.
