Magical damage

Magical damage is a type of damage in Dota 2 dealt through abilities that use magic. It does not depend on a hero’s attack power and is always based on the strength of the ability itself.

Magical damage is not affected by the target’s armor, but it can be reduced through magic damage block from items or abilities, such as Corrosive Skin from Viper or the Pipe of Insight item. This type of damage is often used to deal a high amount of burst damage, especially in fights. Magical damage is effective against heroes with high armor but low magic resistance or health.
